New Documentary Highlights SHOWRUNNERS
June 2, 2011 by Marisa Roffman
If you’re a television nerd like I am, showrunners are a bit like rock gods. Yes, the actors are the face of our shows, but very little of what we see on our televisions could be done without the writers and showrunners.
So to the documentary makers who decided they’d be a good subject matter for a film? You’re brilliant. SHOWRUNNERS looks like a nerd’s dream come true.
In the trailer for the film, there are snippets of sit-down interviews with the showrunners of LOST, FRINGE, SONS OF ANARCHY, HOUSE, ONE TREE HILL and more (additional names will be announced at a later date, since they’re still doing interviews). Plus, there appears to be some footage on location with the writers, including a FRINGE event that was held all the way back in October.
Check out the trailer for a tease…

Wow! It looks really, really good. I can’t wait to see the rest. I’ve always found the behind the scenes stuff fascinating.
This is awesome! While I love my actors, I am thrilled to hear more about the how, when, where and why of the story lines and arcs of some of my faves that you have listed. This will be a must see for me!
