THE VOICE Highlight: Javier Colon Sings ‘Angel’
June 15, 2011 by Marisa Roffman
Given that Javier Colon’s first THE VOICE audition — where he performed his take on Cyndi Lauper’s “Time After Time” — was one of the most buzzed about moments of the series so far (and he came out ahead when he went up against a fellow Team Adam member in the battle round), what would he bring to live quarter-finals round to get fans excited?
Tuesday night, Javier tackled the Sarah McLachlan tearjerker, “Angel,” and with it, he delivered another unforgettable performance.

I think Javier is a bit overated. Yes, his blind audition was impressive. His live performance is over sang….too many extra notes! Just because you can, doesn’t mean you always have to. It’s like having all bells and whistles but no real substance. I hope that he’ll just sing straight and re-invent a pop song but not with all those extra notes.
I disagree. Theres nothing over-rated about him. Yes, he does try to show his incredible range, bnut his music is abosutely fantastic. He’s by far the best singer and performer on the show. Not to mention his musical ability (on the guitar and piano). Hes the complete package. I hope he wins.
