WHITE COLLAR’s Marsha Thomason Talks About the Team Going Undercover as Millionaires and Fan Encounters
June 28, 2011 by Marisa Roffman
Last week WHITE COLLAR fans got to see a different side of Diana when she went undercover. This week, she won’t be the only one out of her element, as the entire team pretends to be millionaires to investigate a case.
“I think it’s episode four, where all the guys — I go undercover, too — but the guys go undercover pretending to be millionaires,” Marsha Thomason (Diana) teased. “And it’s like a millionaire matchmaking service thing and that was very, very fun.”
And if you thought Neal might be the most natural at charming women, the other men may surprise you.
“It’s really fun because everyone would expect Neal to do the best in that kind of [assignment since] the women bid on the men in this auction,” she noted. “So the men work the room, talk to the women, and then there’s an auction and a bidding. And so you would imagine that Neal would win. But actually Peter and Jones also killed there at the auction. It’s really fun. It’s a very, very funny episode.”
But the cast doesn’t save their charm just for their on-screen antics. Since the series often films on the streets of New York, they regularly interact with fans of the show during production. When I talked with Thomason, a recent experience with a WHITE COLLAR fan club was still fresh on her mind.
“[Two weeks ago] a fan club came to the set and there were women from Argentina and from Australia and from Greece, all around the world, who’d come to visit the set to meet us all,” Thomason shared. “And it was just such a trip to just meet these people from all over the world who were loving the show. It was really a treat and it was just incredible, their enthusiasm. I mean, they just, they really love the show and it’s just nice because we make it in kind of a bubble. You know, you make the show and then you put it out and hopefully it does well and it seems to be so it’s exciting.”
