DROP DEAD DIVA Season 3 Premiere Discussion
June 20, 2011 by Sarah Curtis
Hello, DROP DEAD DIVA fans! It’s good to be back talking about our girl Jane and her life!
Season two ended when Grayson asked Jane to be his “best man,” and after she refused, he chased after her and was hit by a car. Season three begins with Jane at the hospital. But in true DDD form, Jane is having a dream. No, she didn’t dream Grayson’s accident — she dreamt that he came back to earth in the bodies of other men. That was pretty clever. But THEN she dreamt a musical number in which male hospital patients had their shirts ripped from them, nurses danced with IV poles, and Grayson pulled her into his arms for a kiss.
Um, what?

[Spoiler alert: If you haven’t watched the season finale of THE KILLING, turn away now. For those of you who have seen “Orpheus Descending,” read on.]
When we last left off, our team realized Richmond’s computer was getting the emails Linden was sending, Holden was sent by a witness to a location where Richmond’s picture was plastered all over the wall and viewers were left wondering whether the show has solved their central murder one episode before the first season ended.
So was Richmond guilty all along?

FALLING SKIES, TNT’s latest original series, debuts tonight at 9 PM and while, yes, it’s a science-fiction show set in a post-alien invasion world, the heart of this series is the people who are struggling to get by.
According to a network press release, “FALLING SKIES opens in the chaotic aftermath of an alien attack that has left most of the world completely incapacitated. In the six months since the initial invasion, the few remaining survivors have banded together outside major cities to begin the difficult task of fighting back. Each day is a test of survival as citizen soldiers work to protect the people in their care while also engaging in an insurgency campaign against the occupying alien force, whose nature and purpose remains a mystery.”

THE FRANCHISE: A SEASON WITH THE SAN FRANCISCO GIANTS Preview

I have a shameful admission to make: I’m really looking forward to Showtime’s new docu-series, THE FRANCHISE: A SEASON WITH THE SAN FRANCISCO GIANTS.
As a die-hard Los Angeles Dodgers fan, those are difficult words to write, but it’s true. (For those who are not familiar with baseball, the Dodgers and Giants are sworn enemies. Think Yankees and Red Sox, but possibly more intense.) But I also love the game and it should be interesting to see how these players handle having cameras follow them on the field and off. Plus, given that they’re the…sigh…defending world champs, what will the pressure of that title mean for the way they handle this season’s pressure?

No, your eyes are not deceiving you, this is an official Comic-Con 2011 update. It’s (almost) that time of the year again, and 20th Century Fox is getting a head start by announcing which shows they’ll be taking to San Diego in July.
Because we’re still more than a month away, there is a chance some listed talent could change, but this should give fans an idea of who is scheduled to be there as of now.
Check out the official press release!

Who Went Home on SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE?

It’s just cruel. Twenty dancers with the highest of hopes and dreams have made it to the coveted SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE for Season 8 of the hit show. But after only one opportunity to perform, two of those dancers have to leave the competition. The results show are never easy, but to be let go this early has really got to hurt.
As a fan it’s not the worst thing. Last year we only had ten dancers to get to know, but since they are back to the Top 20 format this year…well, it all seems a little overwhelming. I can’t wait to know these kids a bit more over the summer. Well, all of them except the two that are let go this evening (too harsh?)
Before we get to the results, a brief round of applause for Sonya Tayeh and her fierce group routine. The dapperness of cane with a little naughtiness thrown in for good measure. Well done.
Now for the tough part…results time. Read more
SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE: Caitlyn, Robert R. and Sasha on the Drama-Filled Live Show

While most of the SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE contestants had a relatively smooth first week, Caitlyn Lawson was dealt a major blow when her partner, Mitchell Kelly, was injured and unable to perform their routine. Thankfully, former SYTYCDer Robert Roldan was able to jump in to partner up with Lawson, but they only had a short time to get their dance down.
The duo — along with Sasha Mallory — talked with Give Me My Remote about working together, the live show and more…

While Showtime still hasn’t given fans any new footage from DEXTER’s upcoming sixth season, they have made another deliciously creepy promo to get viewers excited.
The “message from Dexter” features a Michael C. Hall (Dexter) voice over as the camera closes in on his face until you see…well, why don’t you check it out for yourself?

The SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE live shows got off to a great start Wednesday night, right? There’s not a weak dancer among the bunch and I’m truly unsure about who might be going home on tonight’s elimination show.
However, I think it’s fair to say that after Melanie Moore and Marko Germar’s incredible Travis Wall routine, they should be safe this week.
I caught up with Moore and Germar after the show to talk about their first live performance together, the impressive judges’ feedback and more…
