SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE: The Judges and Eliminated Contestants Speak Out About the Results

No cut on SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE is ever easy, but Thursday night’s elimination was especially harsh since the dancers needed to make past this week in order to be guaranteed a spot on the upcoming SYTYCD tour.
Give Me My Remote spoke with judges Nigel Lythgoe, Mary Murphy and Sonya Tayeh after the show, and they explained why they felt Ryan and Alexander had to go, the surprise of Sasha and Alex being in the bottom 3 and Alex Wong’s injury. Plus, what did Alexander and Ryan have to say about their exits?

DEXTER Promo: ‘Thank God’

We’re less than one week away from Comic-Con, which means we’re less than seven days away from the debut of DEXTER season six footage!
While we wait for that to be released, Showtime has delivered a fantastically creepy promo for the year, featuring a haunting version of “Hallelujah.”

FRINGE Season 4 Promo: ‘?’

Yes, you read that headline right…the first official promo for FRINGE season four is called “?”
That’s pretty infuriatingly perfect, given how many questions most of us have following last season’s WTF-worthy finale, right?
While there is no new footage in the ten-second spot — the cast just went back to work this week — the clip choice is interesting. And there are some good flashes of important Peter footage if you have the ability to slo-mo the promo (I was able to spot Peter and Olivia kissing, Walter and a young Peter, Peter’s tombstone, the drawing of the Doomsday device and Observers).

With so many renewals and pickups coming from TNT, it’s bad news for fans of MEN OF A CERTAIN AGE — the network has opted not to bring back the show for a third season. The news comes just one day after Andre Braugher received an Emmy nod for his portrayal of Owen on the series.
TNT released the following statement about the end of the show…

HAVEN Co-Creator Sam Ernst Teases Two Audreys, Duke and Season 2

HAVEN is back!
Last season ended with a shocker as someone claiming to be Audrey showed up…much to the surprise of the Audrey we knew all of season one. So, um, what the heck?
Series co-creator Sam Ernst was kind of enough to take time out of his busy day — he and the HAVEN writers were busy “hammering out details” for the season finale — to answer burning questions about the two Audreys, trying to wrap up the season before it has aired on TV, Duke’s past and more…
FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS Series Finale Preview: ‘Always’

Well, folks, this is it.
If you’ve been lucky enough to follow the journey of FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS for the past five years, there is just one final hour to go, and it airs this evening at 8 p.m. on NBC.
I won’t say much about what goes down because I know that there are so many people who haven’t yet seen the series and I don’t want to spoil one single second of this spectacular piece of television… which I strongly urge them to Netflix as soon as possible. Start from season 1, sit back and enjoy.
But for those who are eagerly anticipating FNL’s swan song this evening, a quick preview and a Tim & Tyra clip from tonight too…

MODERN FAMILY star Jesse Tyler Ferguson has been having a pretty darn good week.
Not only was he the guest judge on SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE — a show he clearly is a huge fan of — but, oh yeah, he found out Thursday morning that he was nominated for an Emmy.
Ferguson chatted with reporters after the elimination show about his experience as a guest judge, his second Emmy nod and MODERN FAMILY…

Can you believe it’s finally here? Today, one of the best series ever ends and I don’t know what I’m going to do. So while I mourn the end of FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS, check out the rest of tonight’s TV choices…
Friday Night Lights | 8pm on NBC | 90-Minute Series Finale

The Lions prepare for State while the Taylors’ face several decisions that could change their lives forever. Elsewhere, Coach and Tami are caught off guard by Julie’s future plans.
Flashpoint | 8pm on CBS
“Good Cop”
When a cop who mistakenly shot and killed a young boy is declared innocent, Team One confronts a rioting crowd and the father whose dreams died the night he lost his son.

“Somebody is Lying”
A difficult hook-heavy challenge tasks the remaining tunesmiths to be pitch-perfect. That is, they must be persuasive when pitching their music to songwriters Gavin DeGraw and Evan Bogart.

Who Went Home on SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE?

Comments Off on Who Went Home on SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE?
SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE is about to go hybrid on us. Starting next week the top 10 dancers will be paired with returning SYTYCD All Stars who will hopefully help them up their game and work together to give the audience stunning routines every time they hit the stage. Each week, the SYTYCD Season 8 contestants will perform two routines. One with another S8 contestant and one with an All Star. (Find out which former contestants will be returning as SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE All Stars this season.)
But before we get to the top 10, two more dancers had to go home tonight.
The Emmy nominated Cat Deeley (can I get a ‘Hallelu!’) has the sad task of sending one guy and one girl home tonight. After the incredibly powerful group routine choreographed by Kelley Abbey, it’s sad that any of these dancers needs to go home.

Emmy Nominations: The Good, The Bad, The What the Heck?!
July 14, 2011 by Marisa Roffman
As you may have seen, the 2011 Primetime Emmy nominations were announced earlier today. And while there were certainly some amazing nominees, a few have me baffled and a many of the snubs make no sense.
The Good:
- With FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS’ series finale airing Friday night on NBC, the show’s nomination for Outstanding Drama Series and Lead Actor/Actress nods for stars Connie Britton and Kyle Chandler, is a fitting tribute to a great program that was often overlooked.
- Cat Deeley! Finally, the SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE host nabbed a well-deserved nomination for Outstanding Host For A Reality Or Reality-Competition Program. Given that the show and many of the choreographers also got Emmy nods, tonight’s live results show could end up being a full-on party.
- THE BIG BANG THEORY! It’s always a risk when new full-time cast members are brought on to an established series, but Mayim Bialik and Melissa Rauch (who had previously appeared on the show in a recurring role) ended up being the icing on an already fabulous cake. I’m so glad TBBT was rewarded with a Outstanding Comedy Series nomination, as well as Lead Actor nods for Jim Parsons and Johnny Galecki.
- EPISODES?! As much as I adored the Showtime series, I didn’t think it would get a whole lot of Emmy love. Color me surprised that Matt LeBlanc scored a Lead Actor nomination and the series recieved a writing nod for David Crane and Jeffrey Klarik.
- THE KILLING may have gotten raked through the coals by most people for its controversial season finale, but there is no denying the series showcased some fantastic acting during the first year. I’m thrilled Mireille Enos and Michelle Forbes were recognized.
