PARENTHOOD Season 3 Premieres with Pregnancy, Rekindled Romance and New Career Possibilities
September 13, 2011 by Korbi Ghosh
I took quite a lengthy break from television — both watching and writing about it — this summer. But I’m back today and back for one reason only: PARENTHOOD.
PARENTHOOD is the sort of show that reminds me why I love TV. The quality of the characters, their story lines and the very talented actors that allow it all to play out with humor and relatability keeps me invested every week.
If you were a fan of FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS, you should know that PARENTHOOD is run by the same man in charge, Mr. Jason Katims, and the level of love and authenticity that he gave to FNL is quite easy to spot in a PARENTHOOD scene as well.
If you haven’t yet watched PARENTHOOD, or you saw an early episode and weren’t fully impressed, please don’t hesitate to give it a shot tonight, as the third season premieres on NBC at 10 p.m.
I’ll catch you up very quickly (or refresh your memory if you’re already a devoted fan):
– Adam and Kristina’s unexpected pregnancy is now in its third trimester; the usually very solid and steady Adam is currently unemployed and looking for a new career… which could come in the form of a partnership with his usually not-so-steady (but still awesome!) younger brother, Crosby.
– Last we saw Crosby, he was trying to win back the mother of his child (after cheating on her) by buying a house and fixing it up pretty. But I’m guessing the stubborn, set-in-her-ways Jasmine isn’t going to jump at the chance to live under that roof.
– Julia, still coming to terms with her inability to have a second baby, is attempting to navigate the adoption process with her sweet, stay-at-home husband, Joel.
– Last we saw Sarah, she was enjoying some early success as a playwright… and in this evening’s premiere, she’s apparently picked back up with her kid’s former English teacher, played by the great Jason Ritter who guest stars tonight.
Take a look…
Oh, and the kids… well, Haddie had just recently lost her virginity to nicest 19-year-old boyfriend TV has ever seen, played by guest star Michael B. Jordan, and Amber was dealing with the disappointment of getting rejected from college, trying to decide what her next move should be. Both those story lines will pick back up in the premiere as well.
So, enjoy PARENTHOOD season 3, Tuesdays at 10 p.m. on NBC. Please!!
