I love this time of year, because what television characters dress up as for Halloween always seems to be telling about them. It’s no surprise Tim Allen’s Mike is dressed in a very “manly” costume, but Hector Elizondo’s Ed dressed up as a vampire is a fun surprise.

Tonight’s TV Spotlight…Tuesday, October 25, 2011

Ugh, can baseball be over already? My Tuesday nights belong to Fox and I can’t watch my shows while the World Series is on!

Nevertheless, go Rangers (I have to support them, because I’m from Texas) and read on for your choices that aren’t baseball!

Last Man Standing | 8pm on ABC
“Last Halloween Standing”
Mike feels let down when his daughters aren’t into celebrating Halloween with him the way they used to. He decides that his two-year-old grandson, Boyd, can be his perfect trick or treat partner. But Kristin adamantly tells him that she doesn’t want her son to go out on Halloween. Mike sneaks him out — with a plan to get the child home before Kristin gets back from work. When Mike gets to Ed’s house with Boyd, they are greeted at the door by Ed’s lady friend, Elvira.

The Biggest Loser | 8pm on NBC
“Episode 1206”
For Halloween, the contestants face a crazy candy temptation and a very spooky challenge. First, the contestants learn they’ll all be playing as one team this week and if they collectively lose 100 lbs., everyone will be safe for another week. A cauldron of candy hanging on a Biggest Loser scale tempts the players all week in more ways than one: for every pound of candy eaten, a pound will be deducted from the amount they all need to lose, up to 10 lbs. This week’s challenge finds players racing through a haunted maze trying to collect as many apples as possible, with another weigh-in advantage – and disadvantage – hanging over them. With the trainers working out all of the players this week, one contestant has separation anxiety, and one trainer is not amused when the contestants play a Halloween trick on him. Plus, a big secret shared by two contestants is revealed.

“Thirst”
An NCIS case changes from accidental death to murder when evidence reveals that a Navy lieutenant died of forced over-hydration. Meanwhile, Gibbs meets Ducky’s new love interest.

The X-Factor | 8pm on Fox | Special Night
“The Finalists Revealed”
Don’t miss THE X FACTOR’s first “Live Show” where the remaining acts, competing to keep their place in the competition, perform for the judges and a live audience on THE X FACTOR stage in a special extended two-and-a-half-hour episode.

Man Up! | 8:30pm on ABC
“Finessing the Bromance”
Kenny gets jealous when Will and Grant strike up an unlikely “bromance.” Things go from bad to worse when he finds out Grant is coming to the weekly Keen Sunday dinner. In an attempt to strike some common ground, the guys try a “Star Wars” screening, a film Kenny is obsessed with, but Grant has never seen.

GLEE: Chord Overstreet Returns!

When news first broke that GLEE star Chord Overstreet (Sam) wouldn’t be regularly appearing this season, there were rumors he could pop up as a guest star. Now, Fox has announced in a press release that Overstreet will return to the show for a multi-episode arc, which will kick off in December.

“We love Chord and have always said that we wanted him back,” GLEE co-creator Ryan Murphy said in a statement. “So here’s an early Christmas present for all the Gleeks — Sam is coming back to McKinley, and just in time for sectionals!”

“I had the best time on GLEE and couldn’t be more excited to be returning,” Overstreet added.

Diana prepares to debut the New York Spectator, but an unfortunate last-minute surprise delays the launch and Diana expects Nate to do whatever it takes to save the day.

How I Met Your Mother | 8pm on CBS
“Noretta”
The gang begins to realize their romantic partner reminds them of one of their parents. Meanwhile, Barney and Nora’s planned romantic evening is ruined by a string of bad events.

The Sing-Off | 8pm on NBC
“Top Eight Groups: Hip Hop Hits”
The eight remaining groups compete for the ultimate prize by performing hip-hop hits. The bottom two groups battle it out in a sing-off to determine who goes home. The group that remains standing at the end of the season receives the prize of $200,000 cash and a Sony Music recording contract.
