BONES Recap: ‘The Prince in the Plastic’
November 18, 2011 by Sarah Curtis

Hey, BONES fans! Did you have something like the Prince Charmington doll? I have to admit that sort of thing wasn’t my deal as a kid. I did have The Heart Family and a hand-me-down Barbie convertible, but that was about it. Most of the time, I was playing Uno or kick-ball in the yard. Or reading. Yes, I was mostly reading. I wouldn’t say that I didn’t have any of those kinds of toy experiences, but all in all, I suppose I was more like Brennan (though this poses an interesting point…Max and Christine Brennan were “all science-all the time”? Thoughts?!?), and I felt a tiny twinge when Cam, Daisy and Angela all declared that EVERYONE had a Prince Charmington doll. While none of us really did, I could certainly identify with Brennan NOT having had that alleged shared experience. But enough about toys, for now…let’s discuss this episode. Starting with…

Jimmy Fallon continued his string of random musical excellence with his guest appearance on Thursday’s episode of THE TONIGHT SHOW WITH JAY LENO.
No, it wasn’t enough for Fallon to simply sing the theme songs of two classic shows. Instead, he played the harmonica, strummed the guitar and sang the theme song for FRESH PRINCE OF BEL AIR as Neil Young and the CHARLES IN CHARGE song as Bob Dylan.
As you may have guessed, the result was pretty epic…

Comments Off on SUPERNATURAL: Jason Dohring to Guest Star
Is it too soon to make Jason Dohring a new mascot for The CW?
Not only is the former VERONICA MARS actor currently recurring on RINGER, but Give Me My Remote has confirmed that Dohring has landed a guest spot on an upcoming episode of SUPERNATURAL.
According to TVLine (who was first to report the casting news), Dohring will play Chronos, the God of Time, in the 12th episode of the season.
Considering that hour is a time-travel episode — also featuring former THE X-FILES star Nick Lea — do you think Chronos is up to no good?

Wednesday night TV always feels deceptively calm, and yet I rarely am able to tackle it all in one night. Am I the only one with that problem? (I think it’s the two-hour X FACTOR performances that always mess me up. I’m lulled into a false sense of security over the number of shows I watch.)
Let’s talk about what was on television last night…

AMERICAN HORROR STORY Recap: ‘Open House’
November 17, 2011 by Ben Phelps
We’ve now passed the halfway point for the first season of AMERICAN HORROR STORY and now, more than ever, it looks like the long-term plan is to keep the house front and center, with the occupants perhaps rotating through. Even though the potential buyer is no longer in any position to purchase the lot for his new development, Ben and Vivien are still set on selling the house (even if Violet’s attachment to it looks like it might change their minds), and Constance will do anything to keep the mansion standing. There’s still a lot that needs to play out with the Harmons, but it seems clear that, whatever ends up happening to them, Constance, the house, and all of its otherworldly inhabitants are sticking around.
As for “Open House” specifically, it’s fitting that it marked the middle of the season, since it was a pretty middle-of-the-road episode. We got a lot more backstory for Larry and the Montgomerys, but other than that (plus a horribly sexist prospective home buyer), there wasn’t much new to offer in this Brad Falchuk-penned installment.

Dearest NBC,
There has been a serious lack of Bryan Fuller shows on our television boxes lately. In fact, it’s actually been more than two years since my beloved PUSHING DAISIES went off the air, and with the exception of Fuller’s brief return to HEROES’s writing staff, we’ve been sans his work for that entire period.

Comments Off on RINGER Recap: ‘Shut Up and Eat Your Bologna’
Welcome back, RINGER fans.
Tuesday’s episode of RINGER may be my favorite episode of the series yet. Why? I’m not quite sure — especially since we saw (spoiler alert) the reappearance of a hated character and Jason Dohring was nowhere to be seen (tragic).
Maybe it’s because Malcolm finally got to do something useful, or maybe it’s because Andrew and Bridget are finally acting like a married couple.
Ok, we all know the truth as to why I loved this episode: We finally saw Henry and Gemma’s twins, and they are adorable, red-headed babies. I’m a sucker for gingers.
I’m joking — sort of.
Let’s get down to business, shall we? So shut up, eat your bologna and keep reading.

We’re halfway through the week! And do you know what that means? It’s ABC night for me! My night will include MODERN FAMILY, HAPPY ENDINGS, and REVENGE! What about yours?
Read on for your choices!
The Middle | 8pm on ABC
“The Play ”
Frankie is thrilled when she learns that the Orson Community Theater is putting on a production of “The Wizard of Oz,” and that kids don’t need to audition to be munchkins, as they will be automatically cast – which is a perfect scenario for a hapless Sue. But things quickly go awry when Frankie is cast in a singing role and learns the director is not happy with Sue’s performance and may cut her from the play. Meanwhile, Brick asks his unreliably quirky Uncle Rusty to attend his school’s Special Friends Day – with disastrous results.
Up All Night | 8pm on NBC
“Hiring and Firing”
Reagan’s inability to fire a less-than-stellar assistant, Nancy, leads Ava to question whether she has lost her edge. Meanwhile, Reagan and Chris hope to find a babysitter that will give him some much-needed parental relief.
The X-Factor | 8pm on Fox
“Live Performance”
Finalists from the four categories – Boys, Girls, Over 30s and Groups – continue to perform LIVE, as America votes to keep their favorite acts safe, and send the others home! See who steps up their game in hopes of winning the $5 million recording contract with Syco/Sony Music.
Suburgatory | 8:30pm on ABC
“Sweet Sixteen”
When Tessa tells Dallas that she wants a simple get together for her sixteenth birthday, Dallas convinces her to let Dalia plan the ultimate birthday extravaganza at the country club, complete with a live performance by her favorite band, specialty drinks and go-go cages. Meanwhile George throws his back out and Sheila Shay takes it upon herself to care for him, even though George is terrified of her.

Following an episode filled with WEST SIDE STORY and sorta-sex, there was surprisingly still much story to be told in “Mash Off.” More character development for Santana, progress in the student council elections story, Quinn/Beth drama and most importantly, the new love/crush arc between Shelby and Puck.

Has anyone been watching CLUE, the new miniseries on The Hub?
Yes, the five-part miniseries is based on the famous board game (see the awesome picture above of the cast posing like the game’s cover?), but it’s re-imagined for young adults. In this version, six teens bond together after witnessing a crime, but when they start to dig further, in true mystery fashion, they realize all is not as it seems. There are some familiarly titled characters, locations and weapons, and as a bonus, it’s family-friendly viewing.
Intrigued? Check out an exclusive clip from tomorrow night’s installment!
