About Last Night… THE X FACTOR, I HATE MY TEENAGE DAUGHTER and PSYCH

Hey, Wednesday TV made me decidedly less cranky than Tuesday night did! Yay!

Unfortunately, I didn’t get to make a huge dent in what I watched, thanks in part to testing out CW’s new CWingo game (more on that in a bit), but what I saw last night didn’t inspire (much) rage, so let’s talk about what aired…

I’m not the hugest fan of Michael Jackson’s music, so THE X FACTOR‘s theme didn’t wow me, but goodness, his poor kids seemed so uncomfortable being in that audience. While I agree with Paula and Nicole’s request for Drew to do something upbeat, the entire night just felt awkward for most of the songs. The only real shining star? Melanie. That girl has talent.

I really want to love I HATE MY TEENAGE DAUGHTER because of how much I adore the cast. So far, it’s not there for me, but I am willing to give it a few more episodes to see if it can grab me.

Look, I love PSYCH. It makes me happy, I can watch and (re)watch it nonstop. And I love William Shatner. Even without watching 99% of STAR TREK, I still adore Shatner. However…wow, last night’s episode did not work for me. I like learning more about Juliet, but Shawn felt so forceful about making her reunite with her father that it rubbed me the wrong way. He has his own rocky relationship with his dad, so you’d think he would have respected her repeated wishes for him to back off.

HARRY’S LAW, LAW & ORDER: SPECIAL VICTIMS UNIT and AMERICAN HORROR STORY are still sitting on my TiVo, but will be watched promptly. [For some thoughts on AMERICAN HORROR STORY, check out Ben’s recap.]
