About Last Night…ONCE UPON A TIME, LEVERAGE, DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES and More

Sunday night TV…isn’t it grand?
With so many fantastic shows capping the weekend, let’s talk about what went down…
There are few shows that make me as gleefully happy as ONCE UPON A TIME does. We’re only six episodes in and already I’m wishing when it’s all over (hopefully 7 years from now), we get a chronological version of the fairytale flashbacks. (Something I always thought would be fun to see on LOST.) Alan Dale continues his run as playing the world’s worst fathers, and I do hope he returns in some way when we next see Charming again.
LEVERAGE‘s “love letter” to THE OFFICE (in last night’s “The Office Job”) was not only funnier than anything THE OFFICE has done in years, but it was the funniest thing I saw on television all week. The similarity of how they shot LEVERAGE for the hour and how we’re used to seeing the Dunder-Mifflin gang was crazy, and there were several times I was just waiting for Jim and Pam to walk in to a scene. But Eliot and Hardison fighting over who ate the sandwich, Nate and Sophie bantering about their relationship and Parker hiding from the cameras at all costs cracked me up. I’m curious though what non-THE OFFICE watchers thought of the hour. Did you still enjoy it without getting all the winks?
I like Bree on DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES, but I almost wish if the show was going to be ballsy and try and recreate what happened with Mary Alice, that they’d go all for it. (As they hinted in the final moments of the midseason finale, as Bree sat in a hotel room with alcohol and a gun.) I don’t want Bree dead, but in terms of storytelling impact, wow. That would be powerful. However, odds are Renee or Ben will find her and get her the treatment she clearly needs. Also, Lynette, why rope Tom into your illegal activities? Now he’s an accessory after the fact! At this rate, we’re going to end the series with all of them in jail for this murder.
I’ve decided that if I spend more than a quarter of the time watching a show making sarcastic comments to the screen, it’s probably not a good thing. Sorry, DEXTER.
HOMELAND…I’m still blown away (no pun intended) by how much I absolutely love this show. I’m endlessly fascinated by Carrie and Brody’s relationship, even though I realize it’s so, so wrong. But with her laid up in the hospital and him (seemingly) about to signal that he’s still devoted to Abu Nazir, the end of the season seems like it’s going to be a wild ride. Any guesses who the CIA mole is?
It’s a little morbid watching PAN AM right now, because we know there are only 4 more episodes left this season — and likely the series. It feels like so many things are being set up, and I can’t help but wonder how many will actually be paid off.
What stood out to you last night?

I freaking love Once Upon A Time. It’s definitely my favorite new show right now. I was skeptical of how they were going to tell the story at first, seemed like it should’ve been a movie more than a series, but I.m definitley hooked! I have to admit, when the Prince was run through this week I looked around my empty apartment like I was looking at people going “wtf?”. Ha!
Once Upon A Time continues to charm me…do you see what I did there?! 😉
Great cast, great storytelling!!
