THE BIG BANG THEORY 100th Episode Dish: What to Expect, Why Christine Baranski Won’t Be Appearing and More

It’s hard to believe, but THE BIG BANG THEORY taped their 100th episode this week. Where the heck does time go?!

Because Team Give Me My Remote adores all things TBBT, I hit up the red carpet at their 100th episode party Thursday night to try and see what the cast and crew could tell us about what will be going down.

“It’s a Leonard and Penny story,” THE BIG BANG THEORY co-creator Bill Prady teased of the milestone episode. And while everyone on the press line was a bit coy about the specifics of the plot, multiple actors hinted everything is not all it may appear to be. Hm… (We’ll have much more for you guys from the carpet as we get closer to the episode’s air date.)

However, there is a bit of bad news for fans who were hoping to see Leonard’s mother, Beverly (who is played by Christine Baranski) in the episode. Prady tweeted on Tuesday that Baranski shot a brief scene from New York, but alas, viewers won’t get the chance to see it when the 100th episode airs.

“She’s not in the 100th episode,” Prady revealed. “The episode was long, so there was a little cameo [we had to cut].”

Too bad, huh?

As for the other actors, in addition to taping the 100th episode and going to the party, there was also the teeny tiny matter of being nominated for their first Screen Actors Guild Award for Comedy Series Ensemble. I talked with Simon Helberg (Howard), Kunal Nayyar (Raj) and Melissa Rauch (Bernadette) about their crazy week…

    I don’t think Penny and Lenard will be a couple again, I am a fan who does hope for it. I have noticed the path Penny’s character has taken, as the alcoholic butt of the joke character who has no real reason to be on the show anymore.
