AMERICAN HORROR STORY Finale Recap: ‘Afterbirth’
December 22, 2011 by Ben Phelps
Filed under #1 featured, American Horror Story
The roller coaster ride that was AMERICAN HORROR STORY’s first season has come to an end, but it’s more like last week’s “Birth” was the final exciting loop, while “Afterbirth” was the bumpy but ultimately straight ride back to the platform. Most of the season had been chock-full of crazy plots, characters, visuals, etc., and even if they weren’t necessarily good, they were at least engaging. “Afterbirth,” on the other hand, was just pretty dull.

It’s time for dating on I HATE MY TEENAGE DAUGHTER!
Yep, you read that right: Annie agrees to let Sophie start dating. And the boy is older. You just know this isn’t going to end well.
Also, you can count on things turning out equally as well for poor Jack, who receives a makeover in tonight’s episode. As Kevin Rahm (Jack) teases below, it’s going to be a crazy way to end the first part of their season.
Give Me My Remote recently hit up the I HATE MY TEENAGE DAUGHTER set to talk with Rahm, Jaime Pressly (Annie), Katie Finneran (Nikki), Aisha Dee (Mackenzie) and Kristi Lauren (Sophie) about the final episode of 2011.

It’s finally here — it’s finale time for THE X FACTOR!
I don’t know about you, but I think Chris, Josh and Melanie are fairly evenly matched going into tonight’s performance finale. All three bring something different to the table, and clearly, they have developed passionate fanbases. I’m excited to see what they bring for their final performances of the season.
So what can viewers expect in tonight’s 90-minute episode? Judges Simon Cowell, Paula Abdul, Nicole Scherzinger and LA Reid (along with the final three contestants), participated in a press conference earlier this week to talk about finale plans, what changes might be coming for season 2, the best — and worst — songs of the season and more.

Vodcast! Danielle and Marisa Grade 5 Dramas

It’s time for another vodcast!
During the last installment, my friend Danielle Turchiano (from Made Possible By Pop Culture) and I talked about which shows surprised us this year, but since we only got to talk in depth about a few, we wanted to discuss a few more shows we both watch.
Below, we grade SUPERNATURAL, FRINGE, CASTLE, HART OF DIXIE and DEXTER (though our DEXTER grade was given before we viewed the season finale). To clarify how we graded each show, we only are grading the most current season of the show (up to the last episode it aired in 2011), and the grade is a reflection of how it held up in comparison to its own previous seasons, not to television in general. As for HART OF DIXIE, it’s just what we think of the first season so far.
Take a look at how we graded these drama series!
