Comments Off on LEVERAGE: Dean Devlin Teases the Midseason Premiere

LEVERAGE is back!

After a nearly three month “break” between the season, Nate, Sophie and the whole gang is back to their old tricks for eight more episodes of hijinks. (Trust me when I say the show hasn’t missed a beat. The first two episodes are excellent.)

To celebrate the occasion, I chatted with LEVERAGE executive producer Dean Devlin about what fans can expect from the season 4.5 premiere…

To try and get more insight into the hour, I got on the phone with OUAT star Raphael Sbarge (Archie/Jiminy), who was quick to praise the writing he’s received on the series so far.

AMERICAN HORROR STORY Recap: ‘Rubber Man’

Comments Off on AMERICAN HORROR STORY Recap: ‘Rubber Man’

AMERICAN HORROR STORY isn’t like every other show on television. How do we know that? Not because a key plot point is that a ghost in a rubber gimp suit had sex with a main character, and is now in love/sleeping with that character’s daughter. Not because, on an even simpler level, a key plot point is a rubber gimp suit. No – AHS is unlike every other TV show because it aired a new episode the night before Thanksgiving that had nothing to do with the holiday!

The SUBURGATORY Cast Previews Their Thanksgiving Episode

November 23, 2011 by

It’s time for Thanksgiving in the suburbs — and yes, the situation is as crazy as you might expect on ABC’s SUBURGATORY. (I may have teared up from laughing so hard at one part of tonight’s brand new episode.)

I sat down with SUBURGATORY stars Jeremy Sisto (George), Jane Levy (Tessa), Cheryl Hines (Dallas), Carly Chaikin (Dalia), Alan Tudyk (Noah), Ana Gasteyer (Sheila), Chris Parnell (Fred), and Allie Grant (Lisa) to see what they could tease about the twisted holiday shenanigans. (Hint: there are costumes!)

MODERN FAMILY: Josh Gad Previews His Guest Spot

Comments Off on MODERN FAMILY: Josh Gad Previews His Guest Spot

Thanksgiving is the perfect time to reunite with old friends and that’s exactly what the Dunphys will be doing in tonight’s brand new episode of MODERN FAMILY, “Punkin Chunkin” — Josh Gad’s Kenneth, an old family friend, returns to the neighborhood for the holidays and make quite the impression on Phil and Claire.

For Gad (who spends his nights in New York as part of the cast of Broadway’s THE BOOK OF MORMON), the opportunity to appear on the show wasn’t just about guest starring on a successful comedy series: it also gave him the chance to reunite with his BACK TO YOU costar Ty Burrell (Phil) and former bosses Steve Levitan and Christopher Lloyd (who created both MODERN FAMILY and BACK TO YOU).

Keep reading for what Gad told me about filming the guest spot, reuniting with his former coworkers and if he’d be game to come back…

ALL MY CHILDREN and ONE LIFE TO LIVE Will Not Continue Online

Well, this sucks.

More than four months after Prospect Park announced they would bring ONE LIFE TO LIVE and ALL MY CHILDREN online after they aired their ABC finales, the company announced today they won’t be moving forward with their plans and both soaps are effectively done. (ONE LIFE TO LIVE will continue to air until mid-January on ABC.)

Keep reading for an official statement and a little bit of ranting from me. (Sorry.)

Comments Off on About Last Night…THE X FACTOR, UNFORGETTABLE and DANCING WITH THE STARS

With THE X FACTOR on Tuesday, was I the only one who had their entire night thrown off thanks to the two-hour live show? It makes no sense, since I generally watch all of Fox’s programming Tuesday night, anyway, but those X FACTOR performance shows seem to take up the entire night.

But there was more than singing on television last night, so let’s talk about what went down…

You may be traveling to your Thanksgiving destination, but don’t forget there’s some great TV on tonight! I’ll be tuning into THE MIDDLE, MODERN FAMILY and (my favorite new TV show of the season) REVENGE.

Check out what’s on tonight, and let us know what you’ll be watching this Wednesday!

Survivor | 8pm on CBS
“A Closer Look”
Never-before-seen moments give an inside look into the castaways and their decisions made during the game so far.

The X-Factor | 8pm on Fox
Two of the remaining finalists from the four categories – Boys, Girls, Over 30s and Groups – are sent home as the votes are revealed LIVE on a special Wednesday results show. Plus, Kelly Clarkson and Bruno Mars are set to perform.

Up All Night | 8pm on NBC
“Week Off”
When the Ava show takes a break, Reagan is thrilled to spend the week at home with Amy, but her type-A personality and defiant sense of justice upset the delicate balance of Chris’s neighborhood social life. Meanwhile, Ava tries to win over Kevin’s (guest star Jason Lee) daughter by giving her vocal lessons for a performance at school.

The Middle | 8pm on ABC
“Thanksgiving III”
Frankie’s parents, Pat and Tag, invite the Hecks to spend a few days at their house to celebrate Thanksgiving together. But the festivities begin to fall apart quickly when Frankie’s sister, Janet, and her family also join in, and soon the siblings are at each other’s throats over their widely differing parenting techniques. Meanwhile, Mike tries to offer some advice to Axl on how to pick up girls when he witnesses his son trying to impress a pretty mini-mart cashier – and fails miserably; Brick attempts to prove his innocence when he is accused by Janet of damaging her daughter’s expensive toy; and Sue is stoked when Frankie, Pat and Janet invite her to take part in their gossip sessions.

Suburgatory | 8:30pm on ABC
“Thanksgiving”
Depressed that she has to spend Thanksgiving in the suburbs, Tessa convinces Dallas to take her to the city for a girls’ day out. During their fun day, they run across George making out with a woman while he was supposed to be “working.” Angry with George for lying to her, Tessa confronts him during the Royces’ Thanksgiving dinner. Meanwhile Lisa refuses to wear a special dress Sheila picked out for her, so Sheila decides to literally turn up the heat.

Howie Mandel Previews the Return of MOBBED

MOBBED is back!

The show was first ordered as a one-off special (which aired back in March), where a man used a flash mob series to propose to his girlfriend — and then get married on the spot. After the success of the debut episode, Fox ordered eight additional installments of MOBBED, the first of which will air this Wednesday night after THE X FACTOR.

So what’s next for the Fox series?

I sat down with MOBBED host Howie Mandel to see what he could share about the next batch of episodes, if viewers should expect more tears and what his ideal flash mob would be.

Thoughts on Finn blackmailing Santana? Do you think The Troubletones are ready to really team up with New Directions? Will Santana make me cry again? (I can answer that one. Yes.)
