I talked with the cast on set earlier this week, and tracked down series stars Jane Levy (Tessa) and Rex Lee (Mr. Wolfe) to get their teases on what viewers can expect in “Charity Case”…

RINGER Recap: ‘Oh Gawd, There’s Two of Them?’

November 2, 2011 by

I have to admit, RINGER fans, that I did not really miss the show during its two-week break.

Do I like the show? Sure, but its plot can be exhausting (whereas REVENGE is twisty yet fun). Sadly, my mind just needed a break. (Yes, my mind needed a break from a CW show — I give you permission to make fun of me in the comments.) But within the first few minutes of Tuesday’s RINGER, I was hooked again.

GLEE Stumbles Over Its “Pot ‘O Gold”

November 1, 2011 by
Filed under #1 featured, Glee, Glee Spoilers

And then they showed the promo for next week’s episode, “The First Time”.

The End.

I wish.

After what felt like the longest playoffs in baseball history, GLEE finally returned tonight with a new episode.  Few were more excited than I was to head back to McKinley High, but I have to be honest and tell you that it wasn’t the homecoming I was hoping for.

There was much talk of Brittany’s Pot ‘o Gold, but this episode felt more like a pot luck supper. Random storylines thrown together to create a semblance of an episode without any thought to cohesiveness or theme.

Unless you’re new to GMMR or The TV Talk Podcast, you know where I usually fall out when it comes to GLEE. I forgive a lot in favor of the songs, snappy one liners and adorable singing boyfriends boys. Maybe my expectations were a bit too high after waiting so long for a new episode, or maybe the episode was just that much of a mess (and if you saw my Twitter stream blow-up during the episode, I think it’s the latter), but either way tonight’s episode stumbled all over the place and never really found its footing.

So what actually happened in tonight episode…

Brittany’s new foreign exchange housemate, Rory, is playing on our girl’s naivety (is that the right word) in order to get to her pot of gold. Santana’s not having it. After appealing to Santana’s ego, Mercedes convinces her to join Shelby’s rival choir. Santana eventually brings Brit along, leaving New Directions down three members and unable to qualify for Regionals (well assuming the 12 person minimum rule still hols true from last year, which we can’t assume as this is GLEE, so all bets are off when it comes to continuity). Quinn is trying to sabotage Shelby in a silly attempt to regain custody of Beth. Puck is a bit more sympathetic and really wants to play house with his adopted baby’s mama. Sue gets the funding for the musical pulled, but her new Congressional opponent – Burt Hummel – saves the day. Go Burt! You Matter! Finn still hates Blaine. Blaine is still wearing bowties. Artie is still waiting for the rest of the group to graduate so he has something to do on this show.

And that’s what you missed on GLEE.

Now on to what worked and what didn’t. (Emphasis on the “didn’t”).

But what else will be happening in the hour? Sue will be getting a new rival in her congressional campaign, Puck will be flirting with an older woman, and Mercedes will be trying to recruit new members to join her in Shelby’s newly formed rival glee club!

After the teams are re-aligned, dramatic confrontations follow between some players and trainers as they all try to adjust to their new reality. Later, the new teams face their first challenge together – racing down a water slide on a hill to unscramble block letters that reveal the winning team’s prize. Trainers Bob Harper, Anna Kournikova and Dolvett Quince each take their teams off the ranch to spice up their last chance workouts, and later, an especially emotional elimination follows a weigh-in revealing noteworthy results from the trainer/team switch.

RAISING HOPE: Greg Garcia, Lucas Neff, Martha Plimpton, Garret Dillahunt and Kate Micucci Preview ‘Killer Hope’

Filed under #1 featured, Raising Hope

As much fun as the baseball playoffs were, it’s time for our real television shows to come back. And personally, I could not be more thrilled that RAISING HOPE has returned to our lives.

I mean, sure, other shows might feature a family worrying about what traits a baby might inherit from her family, but how many of those families are worried about the child taking after her now-executed serial killer mother? This is why you should be tuning in to Tuesday’s brand new episode, “Killer Hope,” people!

In case you need more than my word for it, I hit up the RAISING HOPE set last week and tracked down series creator Greg Garcia and stars Lucas Neff (Jimmy), Garret Dillahunt (Burt), Martha Plimpton (Virginia) and Kate Micucci (Shelley) to get their teases about the episode…
