About Last Night…THE VOICE
February 6, 2012 by Marisa Roffman
Well, Super Bowl Sunday means virtually nothing was new, but we did have the season premiere of THE VOICE! So let’s talk about the singing that went on last night…
I feel a bit ridiculous for how happy last night’s season premiere of THE VOICE made me. Since its first season ended, I’ve watched an entire season of THE X FACTOR (which I did enjoy…the latest news has me cranky) and some mostly lackluster AMERICAN IDOL auditions, so it’s not like I’ve been without singing shows.
But these guys? It feels special. Whether it’s that these coaches want to win the season or that they seemingly genuinely enjoy their other coaches’ presence, there is an energy here that feels like it’s missing on other shows. Plus, one night in and I already have two contestants I’m super excited about. (Tony Lucca and Jesse Campbell, in case you missed those earlier posts.) And after the show’s one-hour season premiere ended, I actually wanted more. Welcome back, THE VOICE.
