REVENGE: Josh Bowman Teases the Fallout From the ‘Chaos’ Fatality
February 16, 2012 by Marisa Roffman
[Spoiler alert: Do not read this post until you’ve watched the February 16th episode of REVENGE, “Chaos”! Seriously, you do not want to ruin what happened for yourself, so turn around, watch the episode and then come back here to read all about what went down!]
Are we all clear?
Holy REVENGE twist!
While many fans had been predicting (or perhaps it was just passionately hoping?) that Daniel wouldn’t end up being the body that was revealed on the beach in the pilot’s flashforward, how many of you breathed a sigh of relief when it Tyler who ended up taking a bullet?
“I was aware from the beginning [Daniel would survive], but I didn’t know for sure until the table read for [episode] 15,” Josh Bowman (Daniel) told me after a screening of “Chaos” earlier this week. “I’m happy I don’t have to do pilot season again, and it’s great to carry on — it’s my family, now, you know?”
With Tyler dead and Daniel covered in what is presumably his former friend’s blood, what’s next?
“I think there will be a lot of people on trial,” Bowman teased. “I think there will be lots of people guessing who it is [who committed the murder]. In episode 16, you’ll see what actually happened, and then it will be up to the characters to try and figure out what happened, and that will take up until the end of the season, I guess.”
And what does that mean for Daniel’s relationship with his parents? After all, when Daniel was found, his mother immediately ordered him to stay quiet.
“He’s always got an allegiance with his mother, and he’s also got a bond with his mother that seems to be nothing like a bond that he shares with anyone,” Bowman noted. “Definitely not his father or his sister. I guess the one person he relies on and loves is Emily, and she’s let him down, he feels like she’s let him down a couple times, so he’s asking what’s next. You’ll definitely see a change, a shift.”
Ah, yes, Emily. After she was less than enthusiastic about his romantic idea to run off to Paris to elope — and Tyler hinted that all was not well with his bride-to-be — is Daniel starting to question his fiancee?
“He’s catching on now,” Bowman said. “He’s definitely gotten a lot more grounded, he’s been through the rounds. He’s ready to ask a few questions himself, and that’s what you’re going to see in the next few episodes.”
Given these questions, will they slow down their relationship a bit?
“I think they might,” he teased.
You know what that means? Stay tuned…
