Happy Valentine’s Day, RINGER fans!

There’s nothing I like to do more on the most romantic night of the year than watch a show about rape, deception and greed. How about you?

I have to admit, though, that last night’s episode threw me for a pleasant loop when the big twist was revealed. [Do not read further if you have yet to see last night’s episode.]

THE SIMPSONS 500th Episode Preview: ‘At Long Last Leave’ Photos and Clips

Comments Off on THE SIMPSONS 500th Episode Preview: ‘At Long Last Leave’ Photos and Clips

In television, it’s a huge milestone to reach 100 episodes. 200 is becoming increasingly rare. But 500? That’s extraordinary.

Few primetime scripted television shows have reached that mark (so far, the list consists of LASSIE and GUNSMOKE), but this Sunday, Fox’s THE SIMPSONS joins that elite club. And it’s only fitting for an episode so big, drastic action is taken.

After all the chaos the Simpsons family has caused, the town of Springfield finally decides to give them the boot in “At Long Last Leave.” Will it stick? Will the family fight to go back or adapt to their new home?

While I don’t want to ruin the fun of the episode (it definitely has several laugh out loud moments), take a look at some episodic stills and two clips from “At Long Last Leave”…

COUGAR TOWN: Courteney Cox, Josh Hopkins, and Christa Miller Talk About the Show’s Return

Comments Off on COUGAR TOWN: Courteney Cox, Josh Hopkins, and Christa Miller Talk About the Show’s Return

It’s baaaack!

After nine months off our television screens, COUGAR TOWN returns tonight with a brand new episode that is sure to make even the coldest of hearts melt a little bit. (Seriously. Good luck not “aww”-ing at least once during the season premiere.)

It’s probably the worst kept secret that there are some major relationship changes for Jules and Grayson in the third season premiere, but that’s not all you can expect from the episode. Andy and Ellie’s son Stan has grown into quite the terror, there’s some fun with green screen, plus just wait until you see what the heck “sharking” is.

I recently hit up COUGAR TOWN’s set, and series stars Courteney Cox (Jules), Josh Hopkins (Grayson), and Christa Miller (Ellie) shared with reporters what fans can expect from the premiere and beyond…

SMASH Recap: Callbacks (with Musical Number Videos)

February 14, 2012 by

NBC exhausted its promotional creativity in order to maximize the reach of last week’s SMASH premiere, and those efforts were rewarded. To build on a debut audience of over 11.4 million viewers, the SMASH pilot was replayed on NBC Universal’s vast cable lineup on Saturday night.  If any converted Gleeks or nostalgic theatre nerds have not sampled this program yet, it is impossible to blame the NBC marketing machine.

Some critics, like Dan Fienberg from Hitfix, noted that the Peacock Network had put similar resources behind THE EVENT, a high concept show that suffered a precipitous ratings plunge following a promising start. Fortunately, SMASH is built to be more accessible to the 18-49 demographic, since it does not rely on cast members from NBC’s 10pm hits of the past (Blair Underwood & Laura Innes are not huge hits on college campuses).

This week’s SMASH reigned in the ambitious storytelling, centering in on the theme of shattered dreams. When our backs are against the wall, and our destiny appears right in front of our noses, how deep will we sink if those dreams vanish in an instant? Can we pick ourselves up and persevere? Is there an expiration date on our ambitions?

Fortunately, the tighter storytelling and consistent tone opened a window into the characters of Karen, Ivy, and Julia. As a result, Katharine McPhee, Megan Hilty, and Debra Messing asserted themselves as the MVPs of an all-star cast.

Host Alison Sweeney surprises the contestants with the news that one player from each team will be going home with their trainer – and that player’s weight will be the only one that counts at this week’s weigh-in. It’s also Valentine’s Day at the Biggest Loser ranch, and that means letters from loved ones go to the team who digs their way under an obstacle course of logs first with a 200 lb. dummy along for the ride, representing the contestant who has gone home. The red and black teams do their best to burn calories while their trainers are away, and one contestant gets help from “Biggest Loser” nutritionist Rachel Beller in preparing a special meal for their loved one. Then the trainers and the two players they went home with return for a tense weigh-in before another contestant is sent home.

Glee | 8pm on Fox

In honor of Valentine’s Day, Will challenges the New Directions to find and perform the world’s greatest love songs. Meanwhile, Rachel’s two dads Hiram (Jeff Goldblum) and LeRoy Berry (Brian Stokes Mitchell) pay a visit to McKinley High.

Last Man Standing | 8pm on ABC
“Adrenaline”
When Mike gets 2011 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series champion Tony Stewart and his race car to jazz up the Outdoor Man retail space, Mike realizes more than ever how much he misses the adrenaline rush he used to get from his adventures on the road. Right before Tony shows up for the opening, Kyle finds a way to give Mike a taste of that excitement once again. Also, Kristin’s desire to go skydiving gets Vanessa thinking how she used to take more chances before becoming a mom.

Cougar Town | 8:30pm on ABC | Season 3 Premiere
“Ain’t Love Strange”
Jules is miffed when Grayson (who has an ulterior motive) calls her “predictable”; Ellie frets that little Stan is turning into a “devil child,” or even worse, could grow up to be like Laurie; and Travis likes his new off campus housing, until Bobby tries to convince him to take dog Travis in.
