About Last Night…THE SIMPSONS, ONCE UPON A TIME and THE WALKING DEAD

Lots of Sunday television, but thanks to WonderCon, I was only able to catch a few shows. But some big stuff went down, so let’s talk about last night’s TV!

It’s never the best sign when I watch an episode of THE SIMPSONS and it doesn’t really stick with me. It wasn’t bad, but at the same time, it wasn’t an episode I have any desire to rewatch soon. Anyone feel differently?

I don’t even know where to start with ONCE UPON A TIME because there’s so much to say! David had some Charming memories! Snow and Charming were split apart again — right after she regained her memories! Rumple made a love potion! Gold was holding a genie lamp — is ALADDIN coming up?! I love this show, partially because every time I watch, it just makes me happy and I want to spend time with these people. It feels like the thread they’re pulling at — Kathryn’s heart being found in the woods — could be a game changer (and I hate using that term loosely), because if she shows up alive, Regina’s wall of hearts, etc. could be revealed. I mean, if you see someone walking around whose heart was allegedly found, that’s going to raise some questions. I’m so excited to see where they go with this.

I am so curious what those of you who haven’t read THE WALKING DEAD graphic novels thought of the finale. The biggest moments for me were Michonne showing up (she was the sword-wielding chick with the two zombies trailing behind her) and the amazing shot of the prison while that epic music was blaring. I was so worried about ruining the show for myself by reading those comics (I actually stopped because of it), but man, it made the finale even more delicious. And now that Shane is dead, Rick seems to have turned into him a little, hasn’t he? That group is going to be in for some rough times if he doesn’t mellow out a little bit next year.

Confession: I couldn’t bring myself to watch Mike’s funeral on DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES after working WonderCon all day. I know it’s going to wreck me and I just couldn’t do that to myself. Which also meant I couldn’t watch GCB because I was worried the promo for the next episode of DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES would either make me cry or spoil me. (Yes, it’s okay to laugh and point at my weirdness.) I’ll watch those (and the rest of the Fox animation domination lineup) as soon as I get the chance today.
