After reading Pete’s discouraging KableTown self-evaluation, Jack takes on the task of making Pete a respectable man. Tracy regains his long lost sense of smell and finds himself particularly fond of Liz’s scent. Meanwhile, Kenneth unwittingly helps Jenna plan revenge against the Pranksmen.

“Kite Strings”
Martin crosses paths with a young man who has a history with his deceased wife, Sarah. A couple managing an online instrument repair business work with an Iraqi heavy metal band that has a teenage follower who is looking to share his comedic talent with an American soldier in Baghdad. But the soldier has troubles of her own when her convoy is ambushed, forcing her to hide in the Iraqi desert. Then, a lottery winner comes upon a depressed pastor.

“The Lion Sleeps Tonight”
A lion breaks loose in Seattle, leaving a couple’s lives and relationship at risk; Lexie overhears Mark’s discussion about moving in with Julia; Teddy begins to take steps towards coming to terms with Henry’s death; Callie grills Arizona on her past lovers; and Alex requests to be taken off Morgan’s preemie case when she becomes too dependent on him. Meanwhile, Meredith tries to be a support for Cristina as the tension between her and Owen hits a boiling point.

While working a hostage situation with Detective Vega, Detective Michael Britten unexpectedly finds himself collaborating with Dr. Lee. In an effort to calm down Gabriel Wyath – a patient who has threatened to blow up a mental hospital – Britten is compromised, and the effects follow him into his other reality. Meanwhile, Rex introduces his girlfriend, Emma, to his dad, and Bird shows concern over Britten’s lack of focus due to his sleepless nights.

A former White House communications director opens a Washington, D.C., crisis-management firm. On the opener, new hire Quinn Perkins is awed by her boss, whose own former boss — the president — is a client. He’s accused of having an affair.
