About Last Night…AMERICAN IDOL, SUBURGATORY, MODERN FAMILY and More

Sorry this is so, so, so late! Hopefully some of you still want to talk about last night’s TV?

I feel like AMERICAN IDOL would have had a really, really good show last night if they didn’t insist on stretching it to 2 hours. Seriously, guys? You had seven contestants. You could have knocked that out in an hour. 90 minutes would have even been understandable. Two hours is just greedy.

Um, SUBURGATORY was risque. I was legitimately hiding my face in my hands while choking on laughter because holy awkward sexuality. Lisa and that fondue is something I may never unsee. It was an amazingly hilarious episode, but man. With the awkward. So, so, so much awkward. (And if we could keep the kangaroo, that would be swell.)

I hope someone tells MODERN FAMILY‘s Claire that her family totally dropped the ball on campaigning for her. I don’t think it would have made a difference, but it’s false gratitude! I’m interested to see how they handle the Haley college situation, though. I think that was one of my favorite episodes for that character and by wait-listing her, the writers have given themselves the best of both worlds.

So, what did you guys think of DON’T TRUST THE B—- IN APARTMENT 23? (Can we just call her a bitch? Stop confusing me, ABC!) I feel like this is a show that will really polarize people, but as you may have seen, I absolutely adore it. And yes, it keeps getting better.

I actually appreciated last night’s cliffhanger on PSYCH. We know there is no way they’d kill off Shawn or Gus, so if you’re going to end your season with a character shot on a beach, Henry is the right one to do it to. And really, if we could get Shawn and Gus back on my screens ASAP, I’d appreciate that.

I watched the REVENGE recap because goodness, it has been about five years since they last showed us a new episode. ABC needs to figure out how to better run this show when it returns next year…
