StarKid’s Joey Richter on his Disney Debut and What StarKid Fans Can Expect on The APOCALYPTOUR!

April 27, 2012 by
Filed under Apocalyptour, Joey Richter, StarKid

If I were to tell one of my friends that Joey Richter was guesting on The Disney Channel’s hit show JESSIE tonight, they’d probably say, “Who?”

If I were to tell a fellow StarKid fan that same news the reaction would be a bit different…”uh, no kidding, Kath. I’ve had the DVR set to record for weeks now. I’ll be watching it live but also live tweeting/blogging/tumbling it with friends and then posting photos and animated gifs of every one of his scenes all while trying to get his name trending on Twitter.”

These are StarKid fans. These are my people.

They are a passionate fanbase whose power has catapulted StarKid – a theatre group born of the University of Michigan – into a legit entity in the entertainment world. In the few short years since the release of A Very Potter Musical, fans have viewed videos on StarKid’s YouTube channel almost 122,000,000 times. They have put StarKid albums and songs on the Billboard charts and most recently at the top of iTunes album chart. If you ask StarKid’s most recognizable member, GLEE star Darren Criss, he’ll be the first to tell you of how StarKid fans have contributed to his insane rise to fame over the past few years.

So it seems only fitting that a fan was a part of connecting StarKid favorite, Joey Richter, with his television debut. Richter will make his first (but not only) appearance as Officer Petey in tonight’s episode of JESSIE – a show chronicling the adventures of Jessie (star Debby Ryan), who moves from Texas to New York City and becomes a nanny to four young and rambunctious children.

I spoke with Richter earlier this week about his role on JESSIE as well as the new StarKid tour – Apocalyptour, kicking off next month.

So…that happened.

THE VAMPIRE DIARIES has never been shy about making big moves, killing characters off, or breaking our hearts, but boy, Thursday night’s episode was intense.

Needless to say, if you haven’t watched “Do Not Go Gentle,” please get yourself to the nearest place to watch it and do it ASAP. For the rest of you, read on for some teases from THE VAMPIRE DIARIES executive producer Julie Plec about what very important scene was almost cut, how the “Stelena” moment might impact the triangle and more…

FRINGE Renewed For Season 5

Good news FRINGE fans! While the ratings may have given some people (understandable) cause for alarm and panic, Fox has officially renewed the series for a 13-episode final season.

Given what the FRINGE stars have teased about a potential season 5, my brain hurts with the possibilities of where the show could go as it heads towards the end of its run.

[Updated: Fox’s official press release included some comments from the people who helped make this season 5 possible —

Comments Off on THE SECRET CIRCLE: Thomas Dekker Teases ‘Traitor’

In tonight’s brand new episode of THE SECRET CIRCLE, Adam and Melissa continue their partnership. Considering Adam had spent most of the previous episodes either wrapped up with Diana or Cassie’s storylines, it’s been a nice change of pace to see him with someone who appears to be just a friend.

When I hit up the set earlier this month, I got Thomas Dekker’s (Adam) take on the show focusing on some of the other circle relationships…

Comments Off on THE VAMPIRE DIARIES: ‘Do Not Go Gentle’ Teases

THE VAMPIRE DIARIES isn’t known for taking things easy, but tonight’s brand new episode is…intense. And even that feels like it’s underselling the hour.

But you don’t want to hear from me, do you? You’d much rather hear from the people involved in creating the hour. (And who could blame you.) Several members of the cast joined showrunner Julie Plec to tease to a group of reporters what goes down in the very important episode…

Comments Off on THE SECRET CIRCLE: How Will The Other Blackwell Child Reveal Change The Group Dynamic? Thomas Dekker, Shelley Hennig and Jessica Parker Kennedy Weigh In

After months of teasing, THE SECRET CIRCLE revealed last week that Diana is actually the other Blackwell child. Given how tenuous the group’s bond has been in the past, will this knowledge blow them apart?

When I hit up THE SECRET CIRCLE earlier this month, I asked Thomas Dekker (Adam), Jessica Parker Kennedy (Melissa) and Shelley Hennig (Diana) about how the group dynamic will change now that there are two known Blackwells in the circle. (And yes, Hennig was careful to not completely tip her hand to the fact that Diana was the other Blackwell child.)

FRINGE: Is Olivia Destined to Die? Anna Torv Admits ‘I Don’t Have Any Aversion to the Idea of That Being the Ultimate Sacrifice’

April 25, 2012 by

For more than a season, FRINGE has teased the future isn’t too bright for Olivia Dunham.

Between her morbid prediction in “Lysergic Acid Diethylamide,” her actual assassination by Walternate in 2026 (which is no longer a factor thanks to Peter removing himself from the timeline), September’s warning that in all futures she had to die, or her absence from last week’s trip to 2036, things aren’t entirely looking up for our girl. And when you add in what FRINGE showrunners Jeff Pinkner and J.H. Wyman teased earlier this year about Olivia potentially being destined for something tragic, at this point, it would almost be more shocking if Olivia’s fate wasn’t something morbid.

But what does FRINGE star Anna Torv (Olivia) think about all these warnings that her character might kick the bucket?

I sat down with Torv on the Vancouver set earlier this month and we discussed Olivia’s fate and what she thinks of where her character is headed. And in order to make this not entirely super serious/depressing, we also talked about which character she’d like to have back and if fans should expect any more drama between Olivia and Peter…
