About Last Night…THE VAMPIRE DIARIES, THE BIG BANG THEORY, AWAKE and More
May 4, 2012 by Marisa Roffman
Thursday night TV! Let’s tackle it!
Amy trying to woo Sheldon on THE BIG BANG THEORY was just…amazing. Making his favorite foods (washed down with strawberry Nesquik, naturally) — as the Super Mario Bros. theme played in the background? Playing STAR TREK doctor? I can’t even… (And Leonard, taking it slow DOES NOT EQUAL PROPOSING DURING SEX.)
I’m guessing some of you didn’t like Elena stating why she was so afraid to commit to one brother on THE VAMPIRE DIARIES, but I actually really liked that moment. First of all, it’s a legitimate (and founded) fear that once she decides, she will lose one of them. (And heck, she doesn’t even know that they just pledged if she chooses one, the other will leave town.) Second, as mature as she has to act, she’s still a kid. Her indecision is understandable.
Well, I didn’t see Skylar’s elimination coming on AMERICAN IDOL. While she certainly wasn’t in my top 2, I thought America would surely vote her into the finals. But seriously guys, how freaking padded did last night’s show feel?
Hm, I don’t think THE SECRET CIRCLE handled Nick’s resurrection that well. I wasn’t hoping for him to return to the show permanently, but it felt…wasted. If you were going to do it up, do it up BIG. In last night’s episode, it felt upstaged by all the flashbacks going on. Anyone else disappointed?
THE OFFICE wasn’t terrible. So, there’s that. I’m interested to see where they take the David Wallace angle, but Nellie is just unbearable.
I think last night’s episode of PARKS AND RECREATION may have been the most laugh out loud funny episode all season. So many things were great, but Tom, Ron, and Donna getting Leslie those vans was amazing. (And here’s hoping Donna’s Fassy car gets fixed up ASAP.)
I still think AWAKE is one of the best crafted shows on television right now, and it’s a pity more of you aren’t watching it. It’s hard to watch the show sometimes and see what amazing potential there is to be a fantastic long-running series and then have to be grounded by the reality of its ratings. I want to see how Britten and Hannah deal with Rex’s child. I want to see Britten struggle to keep that experience from Rex in the other reality. I want more from these guys. (For the record, an X-FILES marathon is the best family bonding experience. And congrats, Team AWAKE, now I want to pull out my DVDs.)
SCANDAL and PERSON OF INTEREST are still on my DVR. Hoping to watch them over the weekend!
