No job is more stressful, dangerous or exhilarating than those of the Firefighters, Rescue Squad and Paramedics of Chicago Firehouse 51. These are America’s everyday heroes — the courageous men and women who forge headfirst into danger when everyone else is running the other way. But the enormous responsibilities of the job also take a personal toll. Big reputations and hefty egos, coupled with the pressure to perform and make split-second decisions, are bound to put squad members at odds.

1600 PENN on NBC – First Look

As our favorite shows are winding down for the summer (or forever) it’s time to talk about the new shows that will be coming your way when the TV season returns to full swing. Check out these new shows from NBC. Will you be watching?
About the Show…
The Gilchrists are just the average American family dealing with all the everyday issues – like a grown kid who’s forced to move back home, children who are smarter than their teachers and a stepmom (Jenna Elfman, “Dharma and Greg”) desperately trying to win over the kids. They’re loving, fun and a little crazy. In other words, just like everybody else. With one exception: they live in a very special house. The White House!
Whether it’s entertaining foreign dignitaries, sneaking away for a night out, dealing with middle school crushes or putting out fires – figuratively and sometimes literally – there’s never a dull moment in the Gilchrist White House. For example, the First Son (Josh Gad, star of Broadway sensation “The Book of Mormon”) is one of the administration’s biggest liabilities, but also the glue that holds this family together. The President (Bill Pullman, “Independence Day,” “While You Were Sleeping”) knows too well that the only thing harder than being Head of State is being head of the family. Also starring are Martha MacIsaac (“Superbad”), Andre Holland (“Friends with Benefits”), Amara Miller (“The Descendants”) and Benjamin Stockham (“Sons of Tucson”).
“Modern Family” meets “The West Wing” in this election-year comedy from Emmy-winning executive producer/director Jason Winer (“Modern Family”). The executive producers are Winer, Gad and Jon Lovett (former White House speechwriter). Winer also directed the pilot. “1600 Penn” is produced by 20th Century Fox.

Comments Off on THE SECRET CIRCLE: Joe Lando Talks Playing Blackwell
While THE SECRET CIRCLE fans have known about Cassie’s father, Blackwell, from the start, when Joe Lando signed on to play the role midway through the first season, he didn’t realize at the time the importance of his character. It took a call from creator Andrew Miller for Lando to realize just exactly what he had gotten into and the rest as they say is history.
I sat down with Lando on the Vancouver set of THE SECRET CIRCLE to talk about Blackwell, his theories about the character, and more…

Report: COMMUNITY Renewed
May 10, 2012 by Marisa Roffman
More good news for NBC comedy — COMMUNITY will reportedly return next season with 13 episodes. However, while the smaller episode order may bum you out, unlike 30 ROCK, this apparently isn’t being billed as a final season for the series. And no, since nothing is confirmed, there is no word on whether Chevy Chase (Pierce) — who has been infamously feuding with COMMUNITY creator Dan Harmon — will be returning with the show.
Still up in the air? The fate of PARKS AND RECREATION. Hopefully we’ll have positive news for you soon.

The end is drawing near for NBC’s 30 ROCK.
An NBC spokesperson confirms that the Tina Fey and Alec Baldwin series has been renewed for the 2012-2013 season — but that 13-episode order will mark the end of the show.
Are you excited 30 ROCK gets to end on its own terms? Or do you wish it was getting more than 13 episodes?

With only a couple hours before THE SECRET CIRCLE’s first season comes to a close, is anyone else a little bit worried how things are going to end? When I spoke with TSC creator Andrew Miller a few months back, he teased that while there would be answers, the episodes would still feature a cliffhanger…and after being on set and talking to the cast, they indicated things are about to get crazy.
Take a look at my chats with Thomas Dekker (Adam), Chris Zylka (Jake), Jessica Parker Kennedy (Melissa), and Shelley Hennig (Diana)…

As Howard preps to go into space on tonight’s season finale of THE BIG BANG THEORY, the show got some help from someone who had a little bit of experience…real-life NASA astronaut Mike Massimino!
“It was a blast [filming],” Massimino told reporters last week. “Just being around these guys, and this team, was like being around a family.”
