Perhaps you’ve seen those crazy season finale promos for THE VAMPIRE DIARIES teasing the hour a being epic? Really, they’re enough to get any THE VAMPIRE DIARIES fan excited about what could be going on in the third season finale.
But if you thought that was raising your expectations for the hour, just wait until you see what series star Kat Graham (Bonnie) had to tease when we chatted last Friday at a taping of MTV’s AMERICA’S BEST DANCE CREW. Let’s just say there will be some craaaaaazy things going down…
FRINGE: Leonard Nimoy on Returning to the Series, What Bell is Up To, and If He’ll Be Involved in Season 5

While Leonard Nimoy has long insisted he was retired from acting, FRINGE fans were delighted when William Bell showed up (very much alive) in last Friday’s “Brave New World, Part 1.” So what drew him back to the Fox series?
“I think FRINGE is a wildly imaginative show,” Leonard Nimoy (William Bell) told reporters on a conference call earlier today. “I think the writers and creators of the show…are very bright and very theatrical. All of the characters are fleshed out wonderfully and the chemistry amongst the cast is terrific. I wanted to be a part of the project — I enjoy the project. The character of William Bell started off to be rather ambivalent; we weren’t sure if we were supposed to enjoy him or be afraid of him. We couldn’t quite figure out what his motivation was. At the end of last season, he seemed to come around to be less dangerous. This season, I think things have taken a different turn. He’s in a different universe and has taken on other characteristics. There are challenges in the character itself that were attractive to me — that I could play aspects of the character that I hadn’t played in a long time, so it was very welcoming to me.”
TBS Picks Up COUGAR TOWN

Okay, someone break out the Penny Can and wine — COUGAR TOWN has been picked up for season 4!
But before you get too excited, there’s a bit of a catch…the show is moving from ABC to TBS.
“COUGAR TOWN is a smart, whimsical sitcom that draws its humor from likable, relatable characters” said Michael Wright, president, head of programming for TBS, TNT and Turner Classic Movies (TCM). “We are thrilled to have Cougar Town moving to the TBS neighborhood as the network continues to expand its slate of original comedy series.”
In addition to COUGAR TOWN’s fourth season (which is set to debut in early 2013), TBS has garnered the rights to the 61 episodes that originally aired on ABC.
Time to celebrate, right?

Comments Off on Report: Patrick Dempsey, Ellen Pompeo, Sandra Oh, and Justin Chambers Re-Sign with GREY’S ANATOMY
If you were having difficulties imagining the possibility of GREY’S ANATOMY without Meredith, Derek, Cristina and Alex, it certainly appears you won’ be disappointed by this latest batch of news — Deadline is reporting that Ellen Pompeo (Meredith), Patrick Dempsey (Derek), Sandra Oh (Cristina), and Justin Chambers (Alex) have all inked two-year deals to continue on at the ABC drama. Of course, GREY’S ANATOMY hasn’t officially been picked up yet for next season, but this is certainly a step in the right direction.
A rep for ABC said they could not comment on contract negotiations.
If/when this all pans out, what the heck do you hope to see from these guys over the next (possibly) two years?!

Report: TOUCH Renewed For Season 2, ALCATRAZ and THE FINDER Canceled
May 9, 2012 by Marisa Roffman
Filed under Alcatraz, Touch, TV News
Fans of Kiefer Sutherland rejoice — Deadline is reporting that TOUCH has been picked up by Fox for a second season. (A Fox spokesperson had no comment on the reported renewal.)
On the less positive side, EW is reporting ALCATRAZ has been canceled. Given the very cliffhanger-y finale, that’s unfortunate. Also on the chopping block per TVLine is the BONES quasi-spinoff, THE FINDER, which has its now-series finale this Friday.
Are you excited to have more TOUCH? And which (if any) bubble Fox shows do you hope join TOUCH for a spot on the schedule?

Report: Fox Orders Kevin Williamson’s THE FOLLOWING and Josh Berman’s THE MOB DOCTOR

Comments Off on Report: Fox Orders Kevin Williamson’s THE FOLLOWING and Josh Berman’s THE MOB DOCTOR
First came the comedies for Fox, now come the drama series orders.
First up is Kevin Williamson’s THE FOLLOWING, which stars Kevin Bacon as an ex-FBI agent who is drawn back to work when a serial killer escapes…and discovers things are much more complicated than they appear. (Vague description on purpose because the script is that twisty and good.)
And with HOUSE on its way out, Fox has ordered THE MOB DOCTOR, a new medical series from DROP DEAD DIVA creator Josh Berman, about a young female surgeon who is forced to moonlight as a mob doctor while also juggling a full-time gig at Chicago’s most prominent hospital.
Personally? I’m so, so, so giddy for Williamson’s new show. Do either of these appeal to you?
Report: Fox Picks Up BEN FOX IS MY MANNY, GOODWIN GAMES and MINDY
May 9, 2012 by Marisa Roffman
Fox has started stocking up on new shows for the 2012-2013 season.
Following the success of NEW GIRL (and RAISING HOPE), the first three pickups from Fox are comedy series — BEN FOX IS MY MANNY, which is about a single mother whose brother moves in with her to help raise her baby; MINDY, from THE OFFICE’s Mindy Kaling, who will star as a doctor trying to balance a personal life with her hectic professional duties. (About a moment before the news broke, Kaling tweeted out “I love you, Kevin Reilly.”); and GOODWIN GAMES (from HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER’s Carter Bays, Craig Thomas and Chris Harris), which follows three siblings (played by Becki Newton, Scott Foley and Jake Lacy) who inherit their late father’s fortune — but there’s a catch.
Update: It seems Kaling’s new show is now titled IT’S MESSY and BEN FOX IS MY MANNY is now BEN & KATE. (These are all subject to change until they actually reach air, though.)
We’ll have more details on these shows when everything gets officially announced next week, but in the meantime, do any of these intrigue you?

So why he was so excited about the results — and why the results weren’t a shock to him at all?

With THE X FACTOR down mentors Paula Abdul and Nicole Scherzinger, as well as host Steve Jones, there are a lot of roles to fill before season 2 gets fully underway. But now, the show may have found one big name to join returning mentors Simon Cowell and L.A. Reid — Britney Spears!
According to E! News, after months of negotiations, Spears has inked a one-year deal to join the Fox reality show. (Fox had no comment on the report.)
If this comes to be, does Spears’ involvement excite you? And if you didn’t tune in last year, are you more likely to tune in now?
