What Are the Oldest Programs on Your DVR?

I have a slight DVR problem.
See, my TiVo is a little bit older and over the years I’ve built up a collection of some old episodes I just can’t bear to part with. Given that on any given day my DVR is 95-100% full, having episodes that are years old — and some that I own on DVD/blu-ray and/or on iTunes — is a pretty huge problem.

Good news for fans of Meghan Ory’s Ruby/Red Riding Hood on ONCE UPON A TIME — she’ll be a series regular when the show returns for season 2. Deadline was first to report the news.
While Ory appeared in most of the ABC show’s first year, she wasn’t solely tied to it during its freshman run. (She also popped up on SUPERNATURAL this past season.)
Are you excited about the potential of more Ruby in ONCE UPON A TIME season 2?

Comments Off on BREAKING BAD’s Bryan Cranston to Host the Television Critics Association Awards
June seems to be the month for television awards and the news keeps on coming — BREAKING BAD’s Bryan Cranston will host the 2012 Television Critics Association (TCA) Awards. (The full nominees are listed here.)
“Bryan is the perfect host for the TCA’s annual awards show,” said TCA president Candace Havens in a statement. “As professional television journalists we’ve recognized his performances through the years as both a comedic and dramatic star. In fact, we honored his work in 2009 with a TCA Award for his role on ‘Breaking Bad.’ But, as TV fans we’ve laughed along with some of his hilarious characters like Hal in ‘Malcolm in the Middle’ and Dr. Tim Whatley on ‘Seinfeld.’ We’re all thrilled that he will headline our awards this year.”
While the awards won’t be televised, we’ll be sure to update you on the winners when they’re announced!

The Stars of DALLAS Tease Their ‘New’ Series

Comments Off on The Stars of DALLAS Tease Their ‘New’ Series
After 20 years off the air, DALLAS returns to television tonight on TNT and I’d bet a few of you are nervous about it.
If you’re a newbie like I was, you might be hesitant to give it a try given everything that went down during its original run, but I promise you, I was able to jump in immediately with no problems. And if you’re a fan of the original series, you may be hesitant that the TNT version will dilute the show’s legacy.
And if you are a little wary, you aren’t the only one who was initially dubious about it.
“They called and approached me about a year ago I guess and I said, ‘Well…’ and I wasn’t sure,” Larry Hagman (J.R.) admitted to reporters last month. “But then they said, ‘[Original series stars] Patrick Duffy (Bobby) and Linda Gray (Sue Ellen) are going to be on it’ and I said, ‘Oh, well, okay.’ And then Linda called up and she said, ‘You’re going to do it,’ and I said, ‘Okay.'”

WEEDS Will End With Season 8

Comments Off on WEEDS Will End With Season 8
WEEDS is reaching the end of its run: according to EW.com, the series will conclude after its upcoming eighth season.
“There were two shows, Weeds and Dexter, that really got Showtime taken seriously for cutting-edge original programming,” Showtime entertainment president David Nevins told the website. “How they get brought home is really important. In this case, both for the sake of the two women behind the show [Kohan and Golden Globe-winning star Mary-Louise Parker] and an audience that’s really invested in the show. TV fans love nothing better than to complain about how shows end and we really want to end this one the right way.”
Are you disappointed WEEDS is coming to an end? Or do you think the time is right?
