The Klaine Box Scene! Watch GLEE’s Most Coveted Deleted Scene Now
August 1, 2012 by Kath Skerry
Never underestimate the power of Klaine fans. After months of waiting, today Ryan Murphy unleashed ‘the box scene’ on the world!
Confused? Understandable.
So here’s a little background for you. The pre-episode promotional stills released for this season’s holiday episode of GLEE featured the show’s most beloved twosome, Kurt & Blaine, exchanging what seemed to be gifts in the halls of McKinley High. Fans waited patiently to find out just what was in the box Blaine gave to Kurt. Wild speculation ensued. But the episode came and went and the scene didn’t make the final cut. Cue irate GLEE fans.
Cut to a few months later when a script for the GLEE holiday episode was made available through a charity auction. Klaine fans mobilized and over $10,000 was eventually raised to procure the script. (It wasn’t just about the script, as GLEE fans continued to donate money to the organization even after the auction was won.)
The dialogue from what had then been dubbed ‘the box scene’ had surpassed even the highest of fan expectations. The two boys talked of their mutual love and made promises for their future together. Big stuff if you are a Klaine shipper. Fans hoped to see the scene make the GLEE season DVD, but when the DVD ‘special features’ list was published the coveted scene was no where to be found, once again leaving fans disappointed.
But earlier this week, GLEE creator Ryan Murphy joined Twitter and pledged to release the scene once his follower count reached 500,000. That was yesterday. Today he made good on his promise.
So for those who have waited, may I present the Klaine Box Scene…which, let me be the first to say, is even better than this Klaine shipper could have hoped for!
