THE VAMPIRE DIARIES’ Elena has long been adamant about wanting to remain a human, but unfortunately for her, the decision was taken out of her hands — thanks to an accident (and a blood transfusion by a possibly-well-meaning doctor) and her subsequent death, Elena has now joined the ever-growing ranks of vampires in Mystic Falls.
