THE VOICE Battle Round Preview: Is the Amanda vs. Trevin Duet the Best Battle Ever?
October 5, 2012 by Marisa Roffman
For me, I’ve found the battle rounds on THE VOICE to be the most problematic phase of the show in the past. If both contestants are great, you’re saying goodbye to a talented singer who deserves to be there. If it’s completely one-sided, it’s awkward. If both contestants are terrible, then I just get cranky.
But this year, things are different. While the battle round remains, if a great singer loses their battle, the other coaches have the chance to steal them for their own team. And it’s exactly that knowledge that makes the battle between Team CeeLo’s Amanda and Trevin so delicious.
Amanda and Trevin were tasked with singing Mariah Carey’s “Vision of Love” — which is a monster of a song — and they knock it out of the park so completely, I think it very well could be the best battle round performance the show has ever seen.
Take a look for yourself!
Who do you think CeeLo should pick?
