The Voice | 8pm on NBC
“The Battles Continue”
The “battle rounds” continue and the coaches enlist the help of the music industry’s top recording artists to offer their knowledge and skill as advisers. Christina Aguilera teams up with Billie Joe Armstrong, Adam Levine with Mary J. Blige, CeeLo Green with Rob Thomas, and Blake Shelton with Michael Buble. In this phase the coaches pit two of their own team members against each other in a dueling duet. After the vocal face-off, each coach must choose which artist from their team is the strongest and in a new twist, also has the option of stealing losing artists from an opposing coach. Each coach has two steals during the battle rounds where their artists will proceed to the new knockout rounds.

“Pilot”
Recent medical school graduate Emily Owens (Mamie Gummer) is now a first-year surgical intern at Denver Memorial Hospital and she is ready to leave high school persona of geeky-girl-with-flop-sweats behind her. But Emily quickly realizes that a hospital is a lot like high school — cliques and all — when she is faced with her medical school crush Will Collins (Justin Hartley) and high school nemesis Cassandra Kopelson (Aja Naomi King). On top of that, Emily manages to get herself in some hot water with her attending Dr. Gina Bandari (Necar Zadegan), as well as the nurses, on her first day. Another fellow intern, Tyra Dupre (Kelly McCreary) latches onto Emily as a new friend, and immediately begins confiding all her personal information, including the fact that Tyra is a lesbian, and that she hasn’t come out to her father, who happens to be the Chief of Surgery, Dr. Dupre (guest star Harry Lennix). Emily is also getting to know the slightly nerdy, but smart and handsome resident Dr. Micah Barnes (Michael Rady), who is facing some serious medical issues within his own family.
