CASTLE Welcomes Back SCANDAL’s Darby Stanchfield

Castle’s life is about to get a little more complicated on CASTLE.

ABC confirms that current SCANDAL star Darby Stanchfield will reprise her role as Castle’s first ex-wife (and Alexis’ mostly MIA mother), Meredith, in a January 2013 episode.

According to TVGuide.com (who was first to report the casting news), Meredith pops up to take Alexis on a trip. But when Alexis falls ill, Meredith decides to stay at Castle’s place to take care of her daughter…and Beckett is also there due to problems with her apartment. (And if you add in Martha’s probable presence, Castle is going to be drowning in estrogen. And chaos.)

Of course, this isn’t the only ex of Castle’s that Beckett is going to need to deal with — this Monday’s brand new episode features Beckett’s new boyfriend falling under suspicion for the death of a former fling. Uh oh…

CASTLE airs Mondays at 10 PM on ABC.
