BONES: ‘The Method in the Madness’ and ‘Patriot in Purgatory’ You Ask, I Answer

October 31, 2012 by

Have you been missing BONES?

The good news is you have less than a week until the series returns from its baseball and debate hiatus! And if you’re dying for a little bit of intel about what’s coming up in the first few episodes back, I have a few teases for you about what you can expect from “The Method in the Madness” and “Patriot in Purgatory”…

How will Brennan and Booth react to have Sweets on their Hut? – @wellsbones via Twitter
Booth initially is the one to invite Sweets to stay with his family (post-breakup with Daisy), but he gets quickly frustrated by how comfortable Sweets is — and by Brennan’s eventual reaction to having a house guest.

Will Sweets stay with Booth and Brennan for too long or is it just a one-episode thing? – @AmeSweet via Twitter
You’re not the only who’s wondering that. In fact, some interested parties put some money down on the date they think Sweets will leave B&B’s home.

Season 8 is AWESOME, so far. Does that stay true for these episodes? …Which episode did you like more? 🙂 Thank youuu! – @alluneedisone via Twitter
There was nothing wrong with “The Method in the Madness,” but I really loved “Patriot in Purgatory.” For me, the show works best when they tackle the darker topics, the case is impactful and you see the team working together, and “Patriot in Purgatory” had all of those things going for it. There are some great moments for nearly every single character on the show, and I think it might be my favorite standalone case since season 6’s “The Signs in the Silence.”

I hear Dylan Neal (Doug Witter!!, ha) is playing an old solider buddy of Booth’s. How does their friendship impact the case? – @Beau2985 via Twitter
Dylan Neal is in “Patriot in Purgatory”! Booth comes to his old friend for help and doesn’t initially get the reaction he was hoping for.

From the promo: why is Brennan patting the butts of all the interns? #random – @PeteTechno via Twitter
Well, it wouldn’t be as random if you knew what author Brennan has been reading lately: former Los Angeles Lakers (and Chicago Bulls) coach Phil Jackson.

Squinterns ep: is there a conflict between how they proceed with the case & Booth’s method? Or united in how to solve it? –  @ReuniteFangGang via Twitter
Before the squinterns can even worry about working with others, they need to figure out how they’re going to work with each other. Most of them go along with the idea of teamwork when this particular case comes up, but one is a little bit reluctant to join in at first and wants to go solo. Any guesses about who doesn’t want to play nice with the others?

Why is Brennan crying?- @susanmeeuwesen via Twitter
I really don’t want to ruin that scene, but it’s not something fans should be worried about in terms of it being negative for the Booth and Brennan relationship. Does that help at all?

BONES returns on Monday, November 5th at 8 PM on Fox.

Thanks, you have alleviated some of my fears about Madness, I hope Sweets gets a life and leaves B & B alone, he has done enough damage. So looking forward to Purgatory, love darker episodes, we seem to be getting more comedy than drama these days. Thanks again.

Thanks Marisa! I like the darker episodes too. So looking forward to the entire Jeffersonian cast working together. It always makes for a great episode! Reminds me of earlier seasons.

I enjoy the darker eps as well. Silence is still one of my favorites of all seasons.
    Hope it is as good.

Thanks so much for this article! It’s nice to know what’s coming up, and I completely agree with you about the darker episodes! They work so well together as an ensemble cast, and I’m very interested to see the squinterns all working together as well.
