BEN AND KATE: Brittany Snow to Guest Star
November 9, 2012 by Marisa Roffman
The BEN AND KATE guest cast is expanding (again!): a rep for the show confirms that Brittany Snow will appear on the Fox comedy for a couple of episodes in 2013. According to E! (who was first to report the casting news), Snow will play Lila, a love interest for Echo Kellum’s Tommy.
What interests me most about this is what BEN AND KATE creator Dana Fox said recently about how she viewed a potential Tommy and Kate coupling: “I think what’s interesting about Echo [Kellum (Tommy)] is he’s so funny and so great and so loving and such a puppy dog, but he’s a real man. He’s somebody who you’d be lucky to get that guy as your boyfriend. So that’s one of the things I’m exploring with Kate and Tommy: there’s this guy who has always been there and always loved you and you look at him and think I can take it for granted because it’ll always be there. And then at a certain point, that guy goes, “I really love you, and if you don’t love me, I’m not going to waste the rest of my life for this.” And he gets a girlfriend and you’re watching this guy be the best boyfriend in the world to somebody and you’re wondering, ‘Did I miss something here? Did I make a mistake?’ So that’s the stuff we’re going to put out over the next year.”
Will Lila’s arrival perhaps signal a shift for Kate? We’ll have to tune in to find out…
BEN AND KATE airs Tuesdays at 8:30 PM on Fox.

This should be entertaining. I enjoyed seeing Snow in Hairspray, and I know a couple of buddies that work with me at DISH liked her in Nip Tuck. Ben and Kate has delivered plenty of laughs to me, so I’m saving the entire season to my DISH Hopper for nights I need a laugh—and my TV lineup already has plenty of dramas. It’s nice to have a DVR that can hold my ever-growing show list; especially this time of year. I hope this guest appearance helps gain the show more momentum.
