FAMILY GUY: Seth MacFarlane on Reaching Episode 200 and Why They May Have to Say Goodbye to the STAR WARS Parodies
November 9, 2012 by Marisa Roffman
Reaching episode 200 on any show is a massive achievement, but for FAMILY GUY, it’s practically a miracle: after being canceled twice — a brief axing in 2000 and then a three year break following its 2002 cancellation — reaching this landmark was nearly unthinkable earlier in the show’s run.
I spoke with creator/star Seth MacFarlane at a party to celebrate the milestone about what fans can expect from the special episode and why Disney getting control of STAR WARS likely means the end of the FAMILY GUY parodies…

I’m so scared. Is Seth MacFarlane ending Family Guy anytime soon? I don’t want that to happen! Family Guy brought me and my family closer together! We watch it together and laugh our pants off!
@Iris: He’s expressed discontent before about how long it should run for, arguing that any show should really only go for 7 or 8 seasons. This was during the aftermath of the writers strike so it may have just been that but I think he’s looking for something else to work on after Family Guy ends. I would give it 2 more years.
When Family Guy will end, it will be a sad day.
