FRINGE Recap: ‘Through the Looking Glass and What Walter Found There’

So, I’m really torn about “Through the Looking Glass and What Walter Found There.”
Much like “The Recordist,” I feel like the reaction to this episode has been split. Some delighted in the smaller moments, the callbacks to the things probably only the most hardcore fans would get, etc. Others seem to be frustrated with the slower pace of storytelling and very little of Peter’s newfound Observerdom being addressed. And once again, I find myself stuck in the middle of these two views.
FAMILY GUY: Seth MacFarlane on Reaching Episode 200 and Why They May Have to Say Goodbye to the STAR WARS Parodies

Reaching episode 200 on any show is a massive achievement, but for FAMILY GUY, it’s practically a miracle: after being canceled twice — a brief axing in 2000 and then a three year break following its 2002 cancellation — reaching this landmark was nearly unthinkable earlier in the show’s run.
I spoke with creator/star Seth MacFarlane at a party to celebrate the milestone about what fans can expect from the special episode and why Disney getting control of STAR WARS likely means the end of the FAMILY GUY parodies…
THE FOLLOWING Gets a Freaky New Trailer

The best new series coming your way in 2013 is Fox’s THE FOLLOWING, and I’ve made it pretty clear that if they keep up with this rate of intensely amazing promo videos for the show, I may not survive it.
But it’s kind of worth it, isn’t it? After all, the new trailer Fox released today for the show is not only the longest non-Upfronts promo they’ve done for the series to date, but it also features footage beyond the pilot episode.
Embedded below is the “all audiences” trailer, but be sure to also go to Fox.com for the “rated intense” version…

The BEN AND KATE guest cast is expanding (again!): a rep for the show confirms that Brittany Snow will appear on the Fox comedy for a couple of episodes in 2013. According to E! (who was first to report the casting news), Snow will play Lila, a love interest for Echo Kellum’s Tommy.
Report: Kristen Bell to Guest Star on GOSSIP GIRL

Comments Off on Report: Kristen Bell to Guest Star on GOSSIP GIRL
GOSSIP GIRL fans have been hearing Kristen Bell voice the titular snitch on The CW series for six seasons, but now, finally, we may see her on-screen.
TVLine is reporting that Bell filmed a cameo for the show’s upcoming series finale (set to air December 17th), but it’s unknown as to whether she’ll be playing “Gossip Girl” (whom it has been teased will be revealed this season) or some other character. (A rep for the show had no comment on whether Bell would appear on the show.)
What do you think? Do you hope Bell is really Gossip Girl? Or do you hope the show finds another way to make use of her? (I’m voting the latter.)

BONES: David Boreanaz and Emily Deschanel on Being Honored by LA City Council, Tease ‘The Patriot in Purgatory’
November 9, 2012 by Marisa Roffman
BONES has tackled a lot of issues in its eight season (and counting!) run, but Monday’s episode is a big one for the Fox series: the victim whose death they are investigating ended up dead due to the 9/11 terrorist attacks. It’s a touchy subject, for sure, but BONES treats it — and the victim of the week, who was a vet — with respect.
In fact, the show handled it so well, The LA City Council recognized the series earlier today during a City Council meeting for drawing awareness to the needs of veterans. (You can see a couple photos from that over on Twitter.)
After the meeting, BONES stars David Boreanaz (Booth) and Emily Deschanel (Brennan) talked with reporters about the show being honored, and what fans can expect from “The Patriot in Purgatory”…

We’ve got good news for a handful of shows!
NBC has ordered the back nine episodes of their new drama CHICAGO FIRE. That leaves GUYS WITH KID as the sole fall NBC show whose fate is up in the air.
The CW has granted a full season to BEAUTY AND THE BEAST. That means EMILY OWENS, M.D. is the remaining new CW series without a pickup.
And finally, HAVEN will be returning for a 13-episode season 4 on Syfy.
Are you happy to get a lot of good news? Which show’s fate has you most excited?

FRINGE: Joshua Jackson and Anna Torv Tease ‘Through the Looking Glass and What Walter Found There’

While much has been said about the hallways in tonight’s episode of FRINGE (and, to be fair, did you see the promo? There’s some darn cool things in those hallways.), but what fans should be looking forward to is what the team finds there.
“We are in the midst of the device that gets introduced in episode [2], about the tapes,” Joshua Jackson (Peter) teased to reporters on the set of “Through the Looking Glass and What Walter Found There.” “So that becomes kind of the — not framing device, the motivational device, plot device of every episode mostly this season. So [what we’re filming] is the direct consequence of one of the pieces of Walter’s plan that he’s hidden. And it takes us into this hallway. He’s hidden a key component that actually…I think will probably be, for all the serious FRINGE-heads, probably the coolest reveal of the episode — what it is that’s in there.”

Chef Ramsay heads to Mama Maria’s in Brooklyn. This Italian restaurant and pizzeria was passed down from mother to son more than 25 years ago, but has proven to be more of a burden than a family gem. The owner is exhausted from trying to make ends meet for his family, which in turn has taken a toll on the staff, food and overall performance of the restaurant. Chef Ramsay is disgusted to find 12 freezers filled with rancid and inedible pre-made meals and he reaches his breaking point when one diner needs an ambulance after eating a defrosted piece of seafood. When Chef Ramsay levels with this owner, he leaves him in tears. Find out if Ramsay’s push was enough to wake this owner and save his family and restaurant.
Last Man Standing | 8pm on ABC
“Dodgeball Club”
When Boyd gets in trouble at school for playing dodgeball, which his fellow kindergarteners were banned from playing, Mike thinks this is another sign that parents are raising a generation of wimps. FRINGE: J.H. Wyman Teases the ‘Really Fun’ ‘Through the Looking Glass and What Walter Found There’

As FRINGE winds down, there are a lot of milestones both big and small to acknowledge. And it may be one of the more minor things to note, but this Friday’s episode marks a special occasion — it’s the longest title the show has ever done. (At least so far.)
“I think it is, actually,” J.H. Wyman laughed when I asked him about the episode (and the title’s length). “That’s a really fun one. Let’s just say Walter Bishop’s imagination is limitless, and this episode will just do nothing but mint that. And give you a better understanding, again, of what went on before the ambering and the mindframe Walter was in and what he was up against at that time.”
CASTLE: ‘After Hours’ Photo Preview

Sometimes episode descriptions are painfully vague. Others are ridiculously descriptive. Some are boring. And then there are those occasions when the promise of what could be is so delightfully evident in a description you can’t help but be excited.
Case in point? The description for CASTLE’s “After Hours.” Here’s what ABC says about the episode: “In the aftermath of a disastrous “Meet the Parents” dinner, a bickering Castle and Beckett are sent to retrieve the only witness to a murder. But when they get ambushed, they’re forced to take the witness on the run. Stranded in the middle of the night in a bad part of town, with no phone, badge or gun, Castle and Beckett must find a way to protect him from a team of mobsters who want him silenced — that is, if they don’t kill each other first.”
Awesome, right? Take a look at some photos from the episode…
