ABC Orders Full Seasons of SCANDAL and THE NEIGHBORS
October 29, 2012 by Marisa Roffman
ABC has made its first commitments of the 2012-2013 season: the network has ordered full seasons of sophomore series SCANDAL (which had previously been given a 13-episode season 2 order) and new comedy THE NEIGHBORS.
So far, no word on what the fate of its new dramas will be. 666 PARK AVENUE and LAST RESORT were recently granted an order for additional scripts (NASHVILLE debuted later than the others), but that’s still no guarantee those scripts will be actually filmed. When anything is announced, we’ll let you know.
Are you happy THE NEIGHBORS and SCANDAL will be getting full seasons?

Report: NBC Decides Against Moving Forward with THE OFFICE Spinoff

It seems we’ll be saying goodbye to all our friends at Dunder-Mifflin when the series concludes at the end of this season: THE OFFICE star Rainn Wilson (Dwight) has tweeted that the spinoff that was being developed around his character is dead. (NBC hasn’t responded to a request for comment at this time.)
“Farm Update: NBC has passed on moving forward with The Farm TV show,” Wilson tweeted. “Had a blast making the pilot – onwards & upwards!”
Selfishly, I hope this ends up benefiting THE OFFICE: Dwight and Angela have been through so much, and even if they don’t end up together, I’d rather it be because the writers choose it that way, versus having a spinoff dictate that.
Are you bummed we won’t get a Dwight spinoff?

UP ALL NIGHT Gets Extra Episodes, Changes Filming Style

Comments Off on UP ALL NIGHT Gets Extra Episodes, Changes Filming Style
There’s some good news and weird news for UP ALL NIGHT fans: NBC has confirmed they’ve ordered three extra episodes of the show, bringing their season 2 total to 16 installments. But on the flip side, they’ve also confirmed the series will morph into a multi-camera show when it comes back from a planned winter hiatus.
For viewers, the most obvious change may be the addition of a live studio audience. For the series itself, they’ll need to transform their current sets to something that can fit to that format. (And, presumably, there will be a shift in the writing as well to allow for a more sitcom friendly format.)
It’s a bit of a strange move, as the second season has also made a significant story shift from the comedy’s first year. But does this make you more likely to tune in?

Comments Off on The CW, CBS Pull Original Episodes Due to Hurricane Sandy
With the many states preparing for Hurricane Sandy to hit, CBS and The CW have opted against airing their originally scheduled new episodes tonight.
“Halloween ep has been pushed a week,” HAWAII FIVE-O executive producer Peter Lenkov tweeted. “Tonight, those of u with power get to see Ed Asner sizzle in 302. Those without-God bless.” (CBS has since scheduled a special CBS News segment to fill HAWAII FIVE-O’s spot.)
On CBS, HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER, PARTNERS, 2 BROKE GIRLS, and MIKE & MOLLY are also set to air reruns. The CW is going with reruns for 90210 and GOSSIP GIRL, too.
No word yet on what this will do to ABC and NBC’s schedule, but we’ll let you know when we find out more. (Update: A CASTLE rep says the show is still scheduled to air tonight as of now. We’ll let you know if anything changes.)

CASTLE: GCB’s Mark Deklin to Guest Star
October 29, 2012 by Marisa Roffman
Former GCB star Mark Deklin is guesting on CASTLE, ABC has confirmed.
Deklin first tweeted out the news of his guest spot this morning by praising his new coworkers: “The folks at @Castle_ABC run a really nice set — enjoying myself immensely. :)” He followed up with a fun tease a bit later, saying he was “[s]hooting a fun stunt sequence this morning.”
Perhaps mixing it up with Castle and Beckett?
Update: Deklin is playing Corey Francis, the boyfriend of a prominent divorce attorney — the show’s case of the week — who may know more about her death than he is letting on. That could very well explain the stunt, right?
Are you excited to have Deklin on CASTLE?

CASTLE fans already know Castle, Beckett, and the rest of the gang make for intriguing viewing, but people in their world are about to discover the same: when a rock star gets killed, the documentary crew that was following his band decides our investigative team is worth keeping the cameras on.
“It’s great to break the fourth wall a little bit and have our characters mug for the camera,” CASTLE creator Andrew Marlowe told me. “It’s great to get a little insight into who the people are once they know there’s an audience out there. I’ll just say Jon Huertas (Esposito) has never been funnier.”
