NBC Pulls ANIMAL PRACTICE; WHITNEY to Return November 14th
October 18, 2012 by Marisa Roffman
Filed under #1 featured, Animal Practice, NBC, Whitney
And we have NBC’s first casualty — the network just announced that effective on November 14th, returning comedy WHITNEY will take over ANIMAL PRACTICE’s Wednesday at 8 PM slot.
This leaves GUYS WITH KIDS as the lone NBC fall comedy with its fate still up in the air. (The network’s remaining new drama, CHICAGO FIRE, premiered last week and is still TBD.) It also leaves COMMUNITY as the remaining returning show without a spot on the schedule. (But, given how hard it has been to get eyes on NBC on Wednesday, not having to take over ANIMAL PRACTICE’s spot may be a blessing in disguise for COMMUNITY.)
Are you sad to lose ANIMAL PRACTICE? Happy to get WHITNEY back? Still waiting for COMMUNITY’s return to be announced?

MLB Rain Delay Pushes THE X FACTOR’s ‘Judges’ Homes’ to October 23rd, Tuesday Comedy Lineup Preempted
October 17, 2012 by Marisa Roffman

If you tried to watch THE X FACTOR tonight, chances are you were a bit perplexed by what went down.
Thanks to a rain delay, the National League Championship Series game caused more than a little bit of chaos on Fox’s schedule. At first, the network chose to air a rerun of the BEN AND KATE pilot at 8 PM ET/5 PM PT, perhaps hoping the rain delay would be brief and they could resume the game and then air THE X FACTOR as had been scheduled. Then they put on THE X FACTOR after BEN AND KATE concluded. But when the NLCS game was ready to resume, Fox switched over to a rerun of THE MINDY PROJECT, confusing fans and causing some crazy Twitter reactions.
Now, you’re going to have to wait several days to get the episode’s proper conclusion — Fox has officially announced tonight’s THE X FACTOR episode will air Tuesday, October 23rd at 8 PM. The bad news? That means the entire Tuesday comedy block will be preempted for the night. And since all four comedies are set to air Halloween specials on October 30th, no word on when the displaced episodes will air.
Are you frustrated by THE X FACTOR’s scheduling tonight? Or are you just happy you’ll see the episode in full next week?

SUBURGATORY: Creator Emily Kapnek Teases Season 2

Comments Off on SUBURGATORY: Creator Emily Kapnek Teases Season 2
It’s been a long summer, but it’s finally time to return to Chatswin in tonight’s SUBURGATORY season premiere.
“It’s so funny, I’m so excited it feels like Christmas,” SUBURGATORY creator Emily Kapnek told me of working on her show’s second season. “I get up and go to work and I’m so happy and excited. So much of the pressure from season 1 — obviously we have this new time slot [after MODERN FAMILY] and there’s pressure about it — but I really feel like being a returning show and coming back, I feel like everything has gelled and settled. I feel like we know who we are. The writers have a bunch of great scripts coming in. It’s very exciting.”
As for that hour-later time slot, Kapnek said the content of the show shouldn’t change drastically…though she does have a few ideas for ways to shake things up.
“I was jokingly asking [ABC president] Paul [Lee] if we were allowed to do full-frontal at 9:30,” she laughed. “I think there’s a little more leniency with the standards stuff. We certainly have the ability to go there.”

Comments Off on Are Taylor Momsen and Connor Paolo Returning for GOSSIP GIRL’s Series Finale?
As GOSSIP GIRL finishes filming its final episodes of the series, it certainly seems like a few more familiar faces will be returning to the mix.
Earlier today, GOSSIP GIRL star Kelly Rutherford (Lily) tweeted out a photo of former GG stars Taylor Momsen (Jenny) and Connor Paolo (Eric), with the caption, “My kids are grown up!!” A rep for the show had no comment about their possible return.
If Jenny and Eric were to return, what would you like to see them do? Cause trouble? Be there for their family? Attend some sort of special event?
GOSSIP GIRL airs Mondays at 9 PM on The CW.
