PERSON OF INTEREST: LOST’s Mark Pellegrino to Guest Star

Filed under Person of Interest, TV News

We have another LOST reunion heading to PERSON OF INTEREST — Mark Pellegrino (Jacob, on the ABC series) will guest star on an upcoming episode of PERSON OF INTEREST, it was announced Saturday at New York Comic-Con.

According to a statement from Warner Bros., Pellegrino is set to play “an edgy and charming head of a popular publishing empire.” Who is hoping that puts him squarely in the path of his former LOST costar Michael Emerson (Finch on the CBS series)?

In case you can’t wait, we do have a photo of Pellegrino interacting with Jim Caviezel (Reese) in the episode… Read more

Bryan Fuller’s MOCKINGBIRD LANE, an adaptation of the classic series THE MUNSTERS, hits our television screens Friday, October 26th at 8 PM on NBC, and honestly, this trailer just makes me giddy.

I still constantly miss PUSHING DAISIES, so this looks like it could be a lovely cousin (or something along those lines) of my beloved fallen series.

Do you think you’ll be checking out MOCKINGBIRD LANE?

FRINGE Recap: ‘The Recordist’

October 13, 2012 by

I’m so very curious to hear what you guys thought of Friday’s episode of FRINGE, “The Recordist,” because I can’t remember a time when a non-myth heavy/season finale hour of the show split my friends so much in terms of how they felt about it.

As for me, I fall somewhere in the middle. I enjoyed the first two episodes more, I appreciated they moved the plot forward slightly in the episode (and it once again emphasized that they’re not telling this story the way most network shows are told), but there were a couple of fantastic scenes that really stood out to me.

So instead of doing a regular recap, I really wanted to shine the light on two particular scenes…and what they might mean for the series going forward.

Comments Off on THE WALKING DEAD’s Robert Kirkman: ‘Everything You Like About the Show is Ramped Up in Season 3’

It’s been nearly eight long months, but THE WALKING DEAD is finally back this Sunday.

“Everything you like about the show is ramped up in season 3,” THE WALKING DEAD executive producer (and creator of the comics) Robert Kirkman told me last month at the Creative Arts Emmy Awards.

So what can you expect from the upcoming season? Take a look at the video where Kirkman teases the “strongest villain we’ve had on the show thus far,” and why, yep, you should be expecting more death…

FRINGE’s Joshua Jackson Teases The Team is ‘Constantly Under Threat’

October 12, 2012 by

For as many changes as FRINGE has undergone throughout the years, one of the constants has been that the team (whether it was in our universe or Over There) gets together, investigates the freaky event of the week, and makes the world a little bit safer.

But now as FRINGE embarks on the final hours of the series, not only are we 20-plus years in the future, but since we’re smack in the middle of Observergeddon, there aren’t really “cases of the week” for the team to investigate. However, thanks to the newly discovered tapes that Walter left behind pre-ambering, our Fringe team will have a new road map that will shape how the foreseeable future of the series will play out, format-wise.

“We are in the midst of the device that gets introduced in episode 1, about the tapes,” Joshua Jackson (Peter) told reporters on set late last month. “So that becomes kind of…the motivational device, plot device, of every episode this season.”

Unfortunately, because things have changed so much, the danger is all the more apparent as the team continues with their journey.

GOSSIP GIRL: ARROW’s Katie Cassidy to Return

Comments Off on GOSSIP GIRL: ARROW’s Katie Cassidy to Return

As GOSSIP GIRL winds down, executive producer Sara Goodman teased to us recently that “we have some old faces coming back.” And while she declined to name names at the time, at least one of the returning characters has been identified: ARROW star Katie Cassidy was photographed on the New York set of GOSSIP GIRL yesterday and sources confirm that her character, Juliet, will appear in the show’s upcoming series finale.

While I’m thrilled to see Cassidy back in the GOSSIP GIRL orbit, I’m so curious about why Juliet is returning after two years away. Is she there to reunite with Nate? Cause trouble for Serena (even though the original one-sided feud was caused by a misunderstanding)? Get payback against Lily? Is she really Gossip Girl?

Or, perhaps, you have your own theory about what Ms. Sharp is up to in the GOSSIP GIRL series finale?

With MADE IN JERSEY the first show pulled from the season, your Friday night looks a bit different this week than last week did.

Take a look at all your options…

Fringe | 9pm on Fox
“The Recordist”
As the rogue Fringe team continues to fight off the oppressive Observers’ invasion, unforeseen events lead them into a forest where they encounter a strange subculture of people devoted to recording human history. [Take a look at a photo/video preview and what Jasika Nicole (Astrid) had to tease about the season!]

Grimm | 9pm on NBC
“The Bottle Imp”
After investigating a grisly murder, clues lead Nick (David Giuntoli) and Hank (Russell Hornsby) to a seemingly unstable father (guest star Josh Stewart) who is on the run with his daughter. As they learn more about the case they realize that the girl’s father may be the least of their worries. At the spice shop, Monroe (Silas Weir Mitchell) finds out filling in for Rosalee (Bree Turner) isn’t as simple as he’d hoped it would be. Meanwhile, Captain Renard (Sasha Roiz) finds himself paying unwarranted attention to more than one woman from his past.

CSI: NY | 8pm on CBS | Time Change
“2,918 Miles”
Evidence found in photos at a crime scene on the Brooklyn Bridge send Mac and Jo to San Francisco in search of a missing teenage girl.

Boss | 9pm on Starz

FRINGE: Jasika Nicole on Astrid’s Life in 2036

October 11, 2012 by

You’d think that after spending more than 20 years in amber, a character might be thrown for a loop or two about all of the shifts in the world around them. But for FRINGE’s Astrid, aside from objecting to a computer game not accepting her word as a legitimate option and having to deal with admittedly questionable food, she’s handling the change fairly well.

“She seems to be the most well-adjusted character in the television show,” Jasika Nicole (Astrid) — correctly — noted to reporters in the video below. But that’s not to say this new situation doesn’t fascinate her: “I think she is so intrigued that she’s living in the middle of a real Fringe event.”

Take a look at the video for more teases from Nicole, including why they need Astrid more than ever, why they’re “Fringe ninjas,” how Astrid is having to help piece the puzzle of the tapes together, why Walter’s in a “really rough area,” and more…

FRINGE: ‘The Recordist’ Photo and Video Preview

Now that the Fringe team has Walter’s tapes to steer them towards their path towards saving us all, it seems like they may be meeting all sorts of people on that journey.

In “The Recordist,” the Fox press release teases the team “encounter a strange subculture of people devoted to recording human history,” which makes me think the comments we got on the really freaking awesome FRINGE promo for the episode may not be far off…perhaps, it’s how this group of people views the pre-amber Fringe team?

Take a look at some photos and video clips from the episode!

Watch NASHVILLE’s Take on The Civil Wars’ ‘If I Didn’t Know Better’

One of my favorite moments from any pilot in the 2012-2013 season was the end of ABC’s NASHVILLE, when Scarlett and Gunnar sing a haunting version of The Civil Wars’ “If I Didn’t Know Better” (which, in the series, was an original song)…and I’m absolutely and totally obsessed with it.

If you want to rewatch the scene (or if you missed it the first time around and are curious about why I’m gushing), take a look!

BEAUTY AND THE BEAST: Kristin Kreuk Teases Her New CW Series

Comments Off on BEAUTY AND THE BEAST: Kristin Kreuk Teases Her New CW Series

After spending more than seven seasons playing Lana Lang on SMALLVILLE, Kristin Kreuk has been largely MIA from our television screens. But tonight, she returns to The CW to play Catherine in their take on BEAUTY AND THE BEAST.

“It was [executive producers Jennifer Levin and Sherri Cooper],” Kreuk told me of what drew her to BEAUTY AND THE BEAST. “Yes, the cupcakes, that was more of an aside thing, but I fell in love with the two of them. And I thought that what they wanted to do, the story they wanted to tell, was very wonderful. And I thought we could build a really strong, complex, female character together. And that was important to me.”

And for Kreuk, one of the aspects of playing this character includes stepping outside of her own comfort zone to play a cop.
