With the recent shooting in Newtown, Connecticut, the victims — and their families — have been in all of our thoughts. And with that in mind, THE VOICE kicked off their performance finale by having the coaches, Carson Daly, Christina Milian, contestants and former contestants hold up names of the victims as they sang their rendition of “Hallelujah.”

Out of all the stories I could have potentially written today, literally, this never would have crossed my mind as a possibility: 13 months after the deal fell through for Prospect Park to continue ABC soaps ONE LIFE TO LIVE and ALL MY CHILDREN online, Deadline is reporting that the company has inked deals with SAG-AFTRA (the acting union) and DGA (the directors’ guild) to bring the soaps back.

NBC is getting a jump start on their midseason premieres by showcasing the pilot of the new comedy, 1600 PENN, after part one of THE VOICE finale tonight.
While some of the promos for the show have made the series seem a little more broad it isn’t. It’s a charming family show that just happens to be set in the White House. And despite what it may look like, Josh Gad’s character, Skip, isn’t a caricature…and the writers and Gad are making an effort to keep it that way.

While the full lineup of PaleyFest 2013 is still a few weeks away, we have a bit more PaleyFest news for you guys: AMERICAN HORROR STORY: ASYLUM and THE NEW NORMAL will have panels, and their co-creator, Ryan Murphy, is being honored with the inaugural PaleyFest Icon Award.
“Ryan Murphy is a true innovator and one of the most original creators working in television today,” said Pat Mitchell, President and CEO of The Paley Center for Media in a statement. “Each of his series has been a game changer in the medium, and continues to inform the cultural conversation. We can’t imagine a more fitting PaleyFest Icon for the Festival’s 30th anniversary.”

I…don’t even know where to start with Friday’s episode of FRINGE.
I suppose that’s a good thing, really. Right now my brain is everywhere and nowhere and very much still in the immediate “WTF did I just see?” phase, so my thoughts are incredibly jumbled. Which given what the heck we saw in “Black Blotter” feels fairly appropriate.

In Philadelphia, PA, Ramsay checks in on Tommy and Dina’s family restaurant Chierello’s, to determine whether both the menu and the couple’s marriage are still suffering. Then, Ramsay pays a visit to Michael, the lazy owner of Leones in Montclair, NJ, to see if he is continuing to disappoint his mother with his unambitious attitude. Find out if Chef Ramsay’s guidance was taken seriously or if his advice was tossed in the trash.
