New Michael J. Fox Show Lands a Series Commitment on NBC

Michael J. Fox is returning to NBC: 30 years after FAMILY TIES’ debut, NBC has landed the rights to Fox’s new comedy series and ordered a full 22 episode season before production has even begun on the pilot.
“To bring Michael J. Fox back to NBC is a supreme honor and we are thrilled that one of the great comedic television stars is coming home again,” said Robert Greenblatt, Chairman of NBC Entertainment, in a statement. “From the moment we met with Michael to hear his unique point of view about this new show, we were completely captivated and on board. He is utterly relatable, optimistic, and in a class by himself, and I have no doubt that the character he will create – and the vivid family characters surrounding him – will be both instantly recognizable and hilarious. Being in business with him is a supreme pleasure.”

THE VAMPIRE DIARIES has had its share of tragedies over the years, but one of the more painful losses recently was the vamping and subsequent death of Matt Davis’ Alaric.
And while that sad goodbye was bad news for many of his THE VAMPIRE DIARIES fans, it has given Davis the chance to take a central role in the new CW series CULT (where he plays Jeff Sefton), which is headed to our televisions later this year.
Recently, Davis sat down with reporters to talk about leaving TVD, moving to CULT, and what he’ll be doing on his new series…

According to EW.com (who was first to report the news), Corddry will appear as Buddy, the owner of the bar where Kate (Dakota Johnson) and BJ (Lucy Punch) work.
BEN AND KATE focuses on the lives of Kate, her young daughter, Maddie (Maggie Jones), and Kate’s irresponsible brother, Ben (Nat Faxon). And this really is a show you should check out. The pilot will be online next Monday, and the series officially debuts Tuesday, September 25th at 8:30 PM on Fox.

Good news, PERCEPTION fans — TNT has renewed the series for a 13-episode second season.
“PERCEPTION has captured the imagination of TNT’s audience of armchair detectives with wonderfully intricate cases, emotionally charged situations and, of course, a terrific cast led by Eric McCormack,” said Michael Wright, president, head of programming for TNT, TBS and Turner Classic Movies (TCM) in a statement. “Daniel Pierce is a truly unique and fascinating addition to television’s pantheon of crime solvers. We look forward to seeing where PERCEPTION takes us next.”
PERCEPTION’s second season is set to bow in 2013.

Whoopi Goldberg Returns to GLEE
August 17, 2012 by Marisa Roffman
Filed under #1 featured, Glee, Glee Spoilers
After playing a pivotal role in getting Rachel into New York Academy of Dramatic Arts — and surprisingly rejecting Kurt from the school — it seems NYADA dean Carmen Tibideaux isn’t quite done on GLEE: a rep for the show confirms that Whoopi Goldberg (Carmen) will recur on the Fox series this season. The Hollywood Reporter was first to break the news.
In addition, season 1 THE GLEE PROJECT contestants Samuel Larsen (who plays Joe) and Alex Newell (who plays Wade/Unique) will officially continue on with the series in a recurring capacity. (It was already announced that Damian McGinty won’t be back with the show.)
Have any theories about why Carmen might be sticking around on GLEE? Are you hoping Kurt gets to prove her wrong? Or that perhaps some of the New Directions kids might make an impression and be heading to NYADA when it’s their turn to graduate?
GLEE’s fourth season premieres on its new night and time on Thursday, September 12th at 9 PM on Fox.
