AWKWARD Recap: My Love is a Black Heart
July 27, 2012 by Sarah Curtis
Hey AWKWARD fans! Sorry I missed the recap last week. Feel free to discuss that episode and Jenna’s church camp woes in the comments if you want to. As for this episode, “My Love is a Black Heart”, the show continues to inch its way through the school year–the premiere featured Christmas and New Year’s Eve, and now we’re up to Valentine’s Day.
Love is in the air, and like always, Jenna is trying to figure out her new relationship with Jake with her old relationship with Matty. To make things worse, Matty seems to be actively interested in the freshman blonde he sniffed his pits to in last week’s episode.
In this episode, Jenna was somewhat self-centered. She wasn’t selfish necessarily, but she assumed that most of what went on was about her. When Matty approached her and wanted advice on the perfect date, Jenna thought Jake had sent him over for some intel. Oh, Jenna. No.
GENERAL HOSPITAL at TCA: Executive Producer Frank Valentini Says He’s ‘Pretty Confident’ About the Soap’s Future

There’s no denying the soap landscape is changing. After all, in the past year, ABC has said goodbye to both ALL MY CHILDREN and ONE LIFE TO LIVE, leaving GENERAL HOSPITAL as the one remaining daytime drama.
But despite the massive shakeup, executive producer Frank Valentini (who previously worked on ONE LIFE TO LIVE) seemed pretty confident when he appeared in front of the Television Critics Association for a GENERAL HOSPITAL panel on Thursday.

With only a few months of FRINGE left, speculation has turned to what the cast will do next.
After Monday’s FRINGE panel at the Television Critic’s Association, Joshua Jackson told reporters he planned to take a little bit of a break for the holidays when filming wrapped, but he didn’t seem surprised when a reporter asked whether he would be open to a possible cameo on ABC’s DON’T TRUST THE B—- IN APARTMENT 23.
“It comes up a lot now,” Jackson acknowledged of the potential of reuniting with his former DAWSON’S CREEK costar James Van Der Beek on the ABC comedy. (Where Van Der Beek plays a fictionalized version of himself.)

With all the talk about what’s to come on AMERICAN IDOL, how about a little look back at what has been.
I talked with former AMERICAN IDOL contestant Haley Reinhart on Sunday at the TEEN CHOICE AWARDS about what her time on the reality series has taught her, her thoughts on the judging rumors (just hours before the Mariah Carey news was confirmed), whether she’d ever have any interest in returning to AI as a judge, and some teasing about her next single…

After delivering a little bit of bad FRINGE news, how about some shiny new pictures to make that a little bit better?
The official season 5 photos have been released, and I have to admit, it’s a little weird not seeing most of the actors also have shots for their alt-personas, too.
Take a look…

FRINGE Halts Production on Final Season

Production on the final year of FRINGE has hit a slight snag — sources confirm that filming has temporarily stopped on the show’s fifth season so series star John Noble (Walter) can get treatment for a sleep disorder. TMZ was first to report the story.
Filming on the Fox series is set to resume on August 7th, and sources say this setback won’t impact the show’s September 28th season premiere or its planned January 2013 series finale air date.
UPDATE: 7:11 PM: While a few other cast members have had a bit of bad luck, sources confirm that the production shut down is due solely to Noble getting treatment for his sleep disorder.
FRINGE airs Fridays at 9 PM on Fox.

NBC Orders DRACULA, Starring Jonathan Rhys Meyers
July 24, 2012 by Marisa Roffman
NBC is getting into the vampire business — the network has just ordered a 10-episode first season of an adaptation of DRACULA, starring former THE TUDORS star Jonathan Rhys Meyers.
According to an NBC press release, “the 10-episode series introduces Dracula as he arrives in London, posing as an American entrepreneur who maintains that he wants to bring modern science to Victorian society. In reality, he hopes to wreak revenge on the people who ruined his life centuries earlier. There’s only one circumstance that can potentially thwart his plan: Dracula falls hopelessly in love with a woman who seems to be a reincarnation of his dead wife.”
What do you think? Would you be interested in watching this new/updated take on DRACULA? Or are you all vamped out with all the other supernatural shows on the air?

We know a few things about the upcoming fifth season of FRINGE: we know it takes place in 2036, we know that Peter has now been reunited with Etta, Walter, and Astrid, we know William Bell is still stuck in that amber…but we don’t know where the heck Olivia is and when she’ll be reuniting with her family.
