BONES Episode 150 Recap: ‘The Ghost in the Machine’
December 3, 2012 by Sarah Curtis
Hello, BONES fans! First of all, congratulations to the show for reaching 150 episodes! I’m glad this episode, “The Ghost in the Machine,” aired to celebrate the milestone. I really loved this episode and appreciated that it wasn’t an intense “reset” or “game changer” like so many season finales or the 100th episode. This is the first episode ever where I couldn’t take my eyes off the screen or make myself hit pause to jot down thoughts. I just watched it, completely mesmerized by almost every moment.
The show took a creative risk by setting the camera POV up as the soul of this episode’s victim, and I thought the risk really paid off, particularly because it allowed the actors a chance to deliver monologues of sorts. And that writing style, combined with the intimate camera work and actors’ fantastic delivery, created some of the most “in character” work of the series. I know I complain a lot when it seems like the show doesn’t respect its victims like it used to, so I have to say this episode’s tone toward the victim was so well done. It’s a combination of the unique POV allowing the characters to be themselves by showing empathy, fury, sadness and happiness, etc. their own ways. In many ways, this ep featured the characters I fell in love with 149 episodes ago. It felt like season 2 respect for the victim combined with season 8 happy B&B, and I have to think that series creator Hart Hanson’s writing on this episode had a lot to do with it. Let’s discuss!
ARROW: Stephen Amell on the Show Casting Manu Bennett as Deathstroke

Comments Off on ARROW: Stephen Amell on the Show Casting Manu Bennett as Deathstroke
Deathstroke’s presence has been felt on ARROW since the very beginning of the series (we got a brief glimpse of his mask in the pilot before he was properly introduced in the fifth episode of the show), but with SPARTACUS’ Manu Bennett now taking over the role, fans should expect to see a more of the character coming up.
“Well, it’s nice to know who’s playing Deathstroke, but it’s not necessarily what you think,” ARROW star Stephen Amell (Oliver/Arrow) teased to reporters on set last week. “I am really excited because I read when Slade was revealed and they do a good job of this in the script sometimes, they put in dummy names [in place of the actual character names to avoid spoilers], and I read the name and I go, ‘Oh, that’s not the name.’ And I texted [executive producer] Marc Guggenheim, ‘Who is that? What’s that real name? It’s Slade Wilson, isn’t it?’ And he’s like, ‘Oh, yeah.’ And they’ve done a good job. They told me this idea they had maybe sometime around episode 3. So for it to come to fruition now, I’m glad we had plans in the early part of the season and we’re sticking to those plans.”
As for Amell, he actually has his own history with Bennett dating back to his pre-ARROW acting days.

With episodes 1-11 and 13 of the final season of FRINGE already named, there is just one remaining title for us to ponder over. And, as luck would have it, the title of episode 12 (which is also the first part of the two-hour FRINGE series finale event) is quite the doozy.
So what will the penultimate episode be called?

We’re more than halfway through the final season of FRINGE, and during this hiatus (new episodes return next week!), I’ve been thinking a lot about what I’d like to see in these last few installments.
So what made my list? (And no, these are not based spoilers. Merely wishful thinking, though I’d be thrilled if any/all of them come true.) Take a look…
