FRINGE: Joshua Jackson Teases ‘Liberty’ and ‘An Enemy of Fate’
January 18, 2013 by Marisa Roffman
We’re just hours away from the FRINGE series finale, and while we have a good idea of what Walter’s arc could be in the final hours (and the trailers have teased what is in store for Olivia), Peter’s journey — outside of the general group plan — is a bit more of a mystery.
Luckily, FRINGE star Joshua Jackson (Peter) participated in a conference call with reporters earlier this morning, so I was able to ask him what he could tease about Peter’s arc in the final two episodes of the series.
“The first of the two hours really deals with Olivia’s story, almost exclusively,” Jackson teased. “It gives us, in a very FRINGE-y way, a final insight into where she is or has been over the course of this season. So…nobody other than really Olivia has much of a role in that story.”
Things become a bit more of a group effort in the series’ final hour.
“But then in the finale, as much as Walter may be called on to make a sacrifice and the gang in general is trying to implement Walter and Donald’s plan, I feel like it was — at least in the script it read — it’s fairly spread across all of the players,” Jackson noted. “Everybody has their piece of the story. Ultimately, Peter’s role, as it has always been, is to be a dutiful son and a husband and father. That plays itself out in a very specific way; I don’t want to tell you how it plays itself out, but everybody, I think, is pretty engaged in the finale.”

I can’t believe Fringe is really over; it’s been a great show, and it had a great ending. I thought it was all very emotional, maybe more than any other episode of Fringe so far. I’m just now catching up with the final two hours because I was working a late shift at DISH on Friday and I wasn’t home when they aired. I’ve been keeping up with Fringe this season on my DISH Hopper, thanks to PrimeTime Anytime. It records FOX, and the other three major networks, automatically during primetime. I can record all my favorite network primetime shows to watch on my schedule, and I don’t have to setup timers to record everything or worry about recording conflicts.
