January 18, 2013 by

FRINGE’s Anna Torv got to do a lot of things over 5 seasons — and 100 episodes! — while playing Olivia Dunham and her alt-persona, but…there’s always room for more.

I spoke with Torv on the carpet for the show’s 100th episode/series finale to find out if there was anything she wished she had gotten the chance to do during her time on FRINGE…

SCANDAL Stars Tease ‘A Criminal, A Whore, An Idiot and a Liar’

Fitz may have just woken up from his coma on SCANDAL (darn assassination attempts ruin everything!), but a good portion of the insight viewers will get from tonight’s brand new episode comes from flashbacks.

“Each flashback episode is like a goldmine for us,” Tony Goldwyn (Fitz) told me when I hit up the set as part of ABC’s winter press tour day. “As an actor, you make all kinds of assumptions, and [SCANDAL creator] Shonda [Rhimes] and I talked early on about what the backstory was. But when we get it in things like [tonight]’s show with my father, I made assumptions [before that] — some of which were correct. It’s a gift. It’s like reading chapters of your own biography, but after playing the character for a year. It’s really fun.”

FRINGE: The Cast Talks About their Reaction to Reading ‘End of the Series’ in the Finale Script. Plus, J.H. Wyman on Reaching the End

January 17, 2013 by

The people behind FRINGE got a rare television gift — they got to go into the final season knowing it was the end.

And while all year was leading up this being it, being aware the end was coming and actually seeing the words “end of series” on a script are two entirely different matters.

I spoke with FRINGE stars John Noble (Walter), Joshua Jackson (Peter), Jasika Nicole (Astrid), and Lance Reddick (Broyles) about reading those series-ending words, plus showrunner J.H. Wyman about reaching the end…

FRINGE: Seth Gabel Talks About His Time on the Series, What He’d Like to See From 2036 Lincoln, and More

January 16, 2013 by

Seth Gabel (Lincoln) has had quite the journey on FRINGE.

He first appeared as Linc in the season 2 finale when the alt-universe Fringe team was introduced, and then recurred in season 3 as the series switched back and forth between universes. After our side’s Lincoln was introduced — and Peter was erased from the timeline — Gabel was made a series regular in season 4. Unfortunately, that status only lasted a season as Linc was killed off and Lincoln decided to stay Over There when the bridge was closed off.

But just because he’s been MIA in season 5 doesn’t mean Gabel’s impact on the show should be forgotten.

I spoke with Gabel on the carpet for FRINGE’s 100th episode/series finale event and discussed some of his memorable moments with the show, plus what he would like to see if Lincoln were to pop up in 2036…
