Report: ONCE UPON A TIME Looking to Recast the Mad Hatter, Potentially Spin Him Off
February 22, 2013 by Marisa Roffman
Filed under Once Upon A Time, TV News
The ONCE UPON A TIME universe may be expanding — Deadline reports that ABC is looking to spin off the Mad Hatter to his own series.
The only catch?
According to Deadline, Sebastian Stan (who has played the dual role of Jefferson/Mad Hatter since the first season) isn’t available to commit to the multi-year contract a spinoff would require, so the network is looking to recast the role before Jefferson/Mad Hatter returns later in the season. If the story and new actor gel, ABC might consider spinning the character off to his own series.
ABC had no comment about the rumors.
What do you think? Do you like the idea of a potential Mad Hatter series?

Comments Off on THE FOLLOWING: James Purefoy Teases Joe’s ‘Quite Simple’ Super-Objective
On television shows, it’s not uncommon at all for actors to learn about their arc as each new script comes in, but that isn’t the case for THE FOLLOWING’s James Purefoy (Joe) — he knows what his character’s ultimate goal is.
“I know what [Joe’s] super-objective is,” he told me. “I know what I want out of the whole thing.”
But just because he was clued in early on about what Joe’s ultimate goal was, that doesn’t mean the rest of his cast was as lucky.

PARKS AND RECREATION: Amy Poehler, Adam Scott, and Mike Schur Talk Leslie and Ben’s Wedding

Comments Off on PARKS AND RECREATION: Amy Poehler, Adam Scott, and Mike Schur Talk Leslie and Ben’s Wedding
Leave it to PARKS AND RECREATION to zig when they could zag: last week’s episode ended up Ben and Leslie deciding to move up their wedding to that night. And when the duo do get married in tonight’s episode, they have a bit of a time crunch on their hands.
“Part of the fun of the episode is that the wedding was originally planned for May and at this black tie gala that happened in last week’s episode they decide to do it that night,” PARKS AND RECREATION showrunner Mike Schur said during a recent conference call with reporters. “So they basically have two hours to throw it together. So everybody kind of has a role to play and Tom Haverford becomes the officiant and has to get like ordained online in like an hour and Donna plays a role and that we’re for the first time are going to feature beautiful and professionally trained singing voice on the show a couple times…We let her pick which aria she wanted to perform, so that was fun. And it just what’s really nice about it is basically in the opening moments of the episode in order to pull this thing off in sort of claustrophobic PARKS AND REC fashion everyone has to sort of chip in. So there’s a part for everybody to play.”
