Fox is using AMERICAN IDOL to give a couple of their comedies a little extra love: the network will air new episodes of NEW GIRL and THE MINDY PROJECT after the Thursday installment of AMERICAN IDOL on April 4th. (They take the place of a planned GLEE rerun.)
It’s good timing for the two shows, because both seem to have big episodes airing that night: On NEW GIRL, Fox says, “Jess (Zooey Deschanel) and Nick (Jake Johnson), who are caught between friendship and something more, try to break out of relationship limbo by going on a “first” date. Once Schmidt (Max Greenfield) and Winston (Lamorne Morris) realize a full-on Jess/Nick romance might be happening, they swoop in to try to sabotage the date.”

Comments Off on CULT: Alona Tal on Fandom, Filming the Entire Season Before the Show Debuts, and More
CULT premieres tonight on The CW, and while the premise of the show may be difficult to describe in words — the network tries their best here — if you tune in, you’ll see it’s not quite as complicated as it could appear: it’s a show about a man who is investigating the disappearance of his brother, who just happened to be convinced that a television show is out to get him.
As luck would have it, many of the actors on the new (real) series have experience with fandom — Matt Davis (who plays Jeff) was formerly on THE VAMPIRE DIARIES, Robert Knepper (who plays Billy/Roger) was on PRISON BREAK, and Alona Tal (who plays Kelly/Marti) was on VERONICA MARS and SUPERNATURAL.
Tal spoke with reporters on the Vancouver-based set last year about whether dealing with real-life fandom prepped her for the show, filming the entire first season before the show premiered, and more…

Hello BONES fans! How did you like this episode, “The Friend in Need”? It felt like a season 1 case to me; the case was sad but relevant, and the suspects were flawed but realistic.
