ARROW: Emily Bett Rickards Teases Felicity’s New Mission in ‘The Odyssey’

Comments Off on ARROW: Emily Bett Rickards Teases Felicity’s New Mission in ‘The Odyssey’

Last week, things got a bit tense for ARROW’s Oliver Queen as he confronted his mother (while dressed up in his vigilante outfit) for possibly misleading him and being responsible for his stepfather’s disappearance. Unfortunately, things don’t go so well for Oliver, and he turns to a familiar face for some help.

“[Felicity] is quite shocked to find Oliver in the back of her car, and she was extremely worried [to see him in that condition],” Emily Bett Rickards (Felicity) told me. “But when she finds out, he’s revealed to her [as being this vigilante], everything starts to make sense to her. Everything to do with the ‘energy drinks’ and the arrow and all that good stuff he laid on her in the previous episodes. It’s an exciting journey. It’s called ‘The Odyssey,’ and it’s a very long journey for her, Diggle, and Oliver in tomorrow night’s episode.”

Comments Off on Watch the Series Premiere of CULT Now!

CULT doesn’t premiere on The CW until next week, but thanks to Hulu, you can watch the first episode right now.

In case you were wondering what exactly CULT is about, The CW’s description: “Investigative journalist Jeff Sefton (Matt Davis) has learned to live with his younger brother Nate’s (guest star James Pizzinato) relentless string of obsessions, especially his latest rant that a hit TV show called “Cult” intends to harm him. When his brother mysteriously disappears, Jeff enlists Skye Yarrow (Jessica Lucas), a young research assistant working on “Cult,” to help with his investigation into the dark underworld of the TV show and its rabid fans. Meanwhile, in the parallel worlds of the show-within-a-show, the cult’s ruthless leader, Billy Grimm, is played by actor Roger Reeves (the double role of Billy/Roger is played by Robert Knepper), a man whose primary agenda is winning back his former follower and lover, Kelly Collins, played by actress Marti Gerritsen (the double role of Kelly/Marti is played by Alona Tal). Since escaping from the cult, Kelly has become an LAPD detective who finds herself drawn back into an investigation of the group’s activities as she struggles to keep Billy at a safe distance. As the television show grows in popularity, cast members Roger and Marti begin to feel the effects in their ‘real’ lives.”

Comments Off on THE VAMPIRE DIARIES: Leah Pipes Cast in THE ORIGINALS Backdoor Pilot

THE VAMPIRE DIARIES’ backdoor pilot, THE ORIGINALS, has found a human occupant: with the rest of the cast playing vampires, werewolves, and witches, a rep for CW has confirmed that Leah Pipes has nabbed the first human role in the upcoming April episode of TVD that could potentially be spun off into its own show.

According to The Hollywood Reporter (who was first to report the casting), Pipes will play Camille, “a college psychology student fascinated by the study of human behavior unaware of the supernatural universe that exists around her.”

Pipes joins THE VAMPIRE DIARIES stars Joseph Morgan (Klaus), Phoebe Tonkin (Hayley), and Daniel Gillies (Elijah), as well as TVD newbies Charles Michael Davis (Marcel), Daniella Pineda (Sophie), and Danielle Campbell (Davina) in the potential spinoff.

BONES Recap: ‘The Shot in the Dark’

Hey, BONES Fans! Well, here it is, the much-anticipated “Shot in the Dark” episode. Not that any of us wants Brennan to be shot, but it certainly provides for an interesting storyline. Is it bad that the idea of Brennan getting shot made me really want to see Booth all tense and angsty and Boothy?  If that’s bad, I don’t want to be good. Speaking of good, let’s discuss the episode!

THE CARRIE DIARIES: Amy B. Harris on Carrie’s New Love, the Scope of Season 1

Comments Off on THE CARRIE DIARIES: Amy B. Harris on Carrie’s New Love, the Scope of Season 1

Carrie and Sebastian have been off-on for THE CARRIE DIARIES’ run so far, but things change in tonight’s brand new episode when a new guy catches her eye. And since one of Carrie’s most infamous plots from HBO’s SEX AND THE CITY was the triangle she had with Big and Aidan, I asked THE CARRIE DIARIES showrunner Amy B. Harris during a recent Q&A with reporters if fans should purposely be making that parallel with Carrie, Sebastian, and her new guy, George.

“I had not thought of it as that, but [George]’s definitely a more relaxed…energy than Sebastian,” Harris said. “And I like that about him. For me, it was fun to bring in a part of Manhattan we hadn’t seen. One was…restaurants and clubs, and two was a fashion shoot and three was a performance art piece and [four was] a Halloween party. So seeing all these different sides of Manhattan, downtown Manhattan, the art scene, the fashion world, this was sort of the way of bringing in the Upper East Side socialite world which was so big in the 80s, but was its own pocket. Nowadays, with the GOSSIP GIRL world, it’s all merged — uptown, downtown — but in the 80s, it was an uptown experience to have those kind of people.”

And with the season finale less than two months away, the writers will be cramming a whole lot of story into the show’s first year.

And we have early renewals: The CW has given pickups to ARROW, SUPERNATURAL, and THE VAMPIRE DIARIES!

“We said last year that one of our goals was to establish building blocks to grow on, and now with our new hit ARROW and fan favorite SUPERNATURAL on Wednesday night, and the continued success of THE VAMPIRE DIARIES on Thursday, we’ve been able to do that,” said Mark Pedowitz, President, The CW in a statement. “Not only do ARROW, SUPERNATURAL, and THE VAMPIRE DIARIES perform well on-air, they’re also extremely successful for us both digitally and socially. I’m thrilled to have all three shows returning to our schedule next season.”

CASTLE: Andrew Marlowe Previews ‘Reality Star Struck’

February 11, 2013 by

It’s Valentine’s Day on CASTLE, and the pressure is on for this holiday to go a little bit better than the last one Castle and Beckett spent together.

“There certainly are shenanigans, especially because the episode is told against the backdrop of reality TV this time…where we have a murder of one of the cast members of [fictional series] THE WIVES OF WALL STREET,” CASTLE creator Andrew Marlowe teased. “When their husbands flamed out on Wall Street, these women had to get busy taking over. And one of their members has been killed. And that larger than life investigation and the fun of that investigation serves a backdrop for Castle and Beckett as it closes in on Valentine’s Day, and each is trying to figure out what the other one got them. But of course, Castle’s Valentine’s Day plans for Beckett go awry, and he’s left scrambling, trying to salvage the situation…Certainly what’s fun about it is Beckett doesn’t have Castle’s kind of money. So what’s she going to get him?”

BONES: Michaela Conlin Teases ‘The Shot in the Dark’

February 11, 2013 by

BONES takes a dark turn in tonight’s episode, “The Shot in the Dark,” as Brennan gets gunned down at the Jeffersonian while she’s working. Understandably, as Brennan fights for her life — and while she’s recovering post-attack — the people who care about her flock to see her.

There was no doubt Booth and Max would be by her bedside, but for people who enjoy Brennan’s friendship with Angela, there’s also a moment of note for that duo, too.

“Angela does go and see her at the hospital, but that’s more of a Booth and Brennan episode,” Michaela Conlin (Angela) told me. “[‘The Shot in the Dark’] really focuses more on the two of them and what happens, the things that Brennan comes to see…[with] her mother. It’s more Booth and Brennan-centered…as it should be.”
