Fox Renews THE FOLLOWING, RAISING HOPE, THE MINDY PROJECT, and NEW GIRL for 2013-2014

Good news for fans of Fox shows: the network has handed out four more early renewals for the 2013-2014 season.

Making the cut? The three remaining Tuesday night comedies (RAISING HOPE, NEW GIRL, and THE MINDY PROJECT), as the new freshman drama hit, THE FOLLOWING. (THE FOLLOWING season 2 will follow the first year’s 15-episode order.)

“We love working with these talented producers and casts who, week after week, create some of the funniest work on television,” said Kevin Reilly, Chairman of Entertainment, Fox Broadcasting Company in a statement about the comedy pickups. “These shows are creatively vibrant, they have established a loyal and passionate audience and they will continue to define and grow the FOX comedy brand next season and beyond.”

He had some kind words for THE FOLLOWING, too.

“From the very beginning, we felt Kevin Williamson and Marcos Siega had created a high-quality, edge-of-your-seat drama that could break from the pack, and it is exciting to see the audience responding,” said Reilly. “Kevin Bacon and James Purefoy have given us two of the most compelling characters on television and the entire cast is incredible. I’m delighted to have this thrill ride continue on FOX for another season.”

They join BONES as returning Fox shows set for the upcoming season.
