BONES: 5 Teases About ‘The Blood From the Stones’

Monday’s brand new episode of BONES (“The Blood From the Stones”) might not be a big event episode, but after having the chance to screen the hour, I found it was one of the most enjoyable installments the show has done this year.

While I certainly don’t want to ruin the hour for you guys, I can tease a few things about the episode…

• Using the documentary format to shed light on characters isn’t a new television trope (CASTLE, LEVERAGE, and GREY’S ANATOMY have all tried the device for one-off episodes in the past few years, whereas shows like THE OFFICE, PARKS AND REC and MODERN FAMILY use it on a weekly basis), but rarely do the shows have a character quite like Brennan. BONES viewers have watched her evolve over eight seasons, but she can still be very, um, blunt. The struggle of those around her to make her a likeable figure on the documentary is interesting, but what’s most telling is what Brennan herself thinks of how she comes off.
• Don’t mess with Booth when a fellow member of law enforcement is killed. Just…don’t do it.
• Viewers will see Caroline in a way that we’ve never seen her before thanks to this guy.
• On another “Caroline is awesome” note, there’s a moment in the investigation where she literally made me laugh out loud. (It may or may not be linked with an earlier tease.)
• For those of you who have been complaining about the lack of “couple” moments between Booth and Brennan, I don’t think you’ll be disappointed by this episode.

BONES’ “The Blood From the Stones” airs Monday, March 25th at 8 PM.
