GO ON: Scott Silveri Talks Reuniting Courteney Cox and Matthew Perry On-Screen
March 26, 2013 by Marisa Roffman
For GO ON creator Scott Silveri, one of his former TV gigs — as an executive producer of a little sitcom called FRIENDS — is still a constant presence in his life, thanks to Matthew Perry being a part of both shows. But in tonight’s brand new episode, the duo staged a larger reunion than normal when Courteney Cox (who played the Monica to Perry’s Chandler) dropped by to play a potential love interest to Ryan (Perry).
“It’s really fun to see the two of them together,” Silveri noted of the duo’s first on-screen appearance in nearly nine years. “I really enjoyed being on stage with the two of them. It felt like old times. I feel like it’ll come through. I think the audience will appreciate it. If not, hey, I had a good time!”
“There were a couple of things I enjoyed,” he continued. “There’s a moment where Ryan picks her up, and it happens in a graveyard, and it’s just the oddest thing, being there shooting it. I thought it was funny, and charming. And having done this sort of thing, having written romantic comedies for a long time, it’s the oddest meet-cute I ever had a hand in. That’s neat and unique and special to the show.”
Of course, things can’t go perfectly for the duo (Cox is committed to COUGAR TOWN’s upcoming fifth season), which allowed for some fun tension between the former on-screen couple.
“And then there’s just stuff that happens late in the episode when stuff blows up between the two of them, and they’re going at each other, and that reminds me of the old days, of the Monica and Chandler of yore,” Silveri laughed. “I think [the episode] has something for your GO ON fans and the few FRIENDS fans that are out there. I think there are still a couple!”

This mini Friends reunion seems to have gotten quite a bit of attention over the last few weeks and I can’t wait to see how it turns out. I’m excited to see how many Monica and Chandler references they make in the episode. Unfortunately I’m going to be traveling for my job at DISH when this episode of Go On airs. Thankfully that won’t mean I’m going to miss it however because I’ve got the DISH Anywhere app on my iPad so I can take my TV with me. The app can stream any show or movie from my DVR wherever I go as long as I have access to the internet.
Hi there! This post could not be written much better! Looking at this article reminds me of my previous roommate!
He constantly kept talking about this. I most
certainly will send this information to him. Fairly certain he will have
a great read. Many thanks for sharing!
