Yesterday CBS had its turn to renew a whole lot of shows, and today, it’s FX’s turn: the network has announced it has picked up new seasons of JUSTIFIED, LEGIT, IT’S ALWAYS SUNNY IN PHILADELPHIA, and THE LEAGUE.
There is a little catch to the renewals for the three comedies — they’ll all be moving over to the newly formed station FXX, which launches on September 2nd.
Additionally, FX has ordered a limited series, FARGO, based on the movie by the same title. THE UNUSUALS/MY GENERATION creator Noah Hawley is writing the television adaption.

NEW GIRL: Taylor Swift to Guest Star
March 28, 2013 by Marisa Roffman

NEW GIRL gave Taylor Swift a shout-out recently when all Jess wanted to do was listen to Swift songs post-breakup (and then Nick tried to dance to cheer her up), and now the singer is returning the favor: a rep for the show confirms Swift will guest star in the Fox comedy’s second season finale!
According to The Hollywood Reporter (who was first to break the news), Swift will play an “important guest” at Cece’s upcoming wedding.
Hmm…
Are you intrigued to see who Swift will play on NEW GIRL?

They spent the first part of NASHVILLE’s debut season dancing around their obvious chemistry, but when we last saw Scarlett and Gunnar, they had hopped in bed together following his brother’s untimely death.
So what’s next for the duo? I spoke with Clare Bowen (Scarlett) and Sam Palladio (Gunnar) before the recent PaleyFest panel to find out what they could share…

GLEE won’t be back for a few weeks, but the Fox description of the next episode is pretty alarming: “The members of New Directions are prepping for Regionals, but when an unthinkable event occurs at McKinley High, perspectives are put into order.”
The good news? The photos are a bit less dramatic…

ARROW: Greg Berlanti on the Twisty Endings, Tommy’s Struggles, Reuniting with His Former Actors, and More
March 27, 2013 by Marisa Roffman
ARROW has been known to throw a couple of “OMG CAN WE HAVE MORE NOW” endings at us over the course of the first season, and when I spoke with one of the show’s executive producers, Greg Berlanti, he noted while they don’t always employ that device, that is the way comic book readers often feel about those stories.
When I had the chance to speak with Berlanti, we also spoke about ARROW’s early renewal, Tommy’s problems post-Oliver’s reveal, possibly bringing some of Berlanti’s former actors over to ARROW, and more…
NASHVILLE’s Charles Esten: ‘There’s Obviously Complications’ in the Way of a Deacon and Rayna Reunion

Comments Off on NASHVILLE’s Charles Esten: ‘There’s Obviously Complications’ in the Way of a Deacon and Rayna Reunion
NASHVILLE’s Rayna and Deacon have sizzling chemistry but his (now-former) addiction mixed with her (rebound) marriage led to them spending over a decade apart, at least romantically speaking. But now Rayna has split from her husband and Deacon is clean, so, in theory, the duo could reunite.
Well, maybe.
As NASHVILLE star Charles Esten (Deacon) hinted during our chat at PaleyFest, there are “complications” ahead for the will-they-won’t-they couple — including the fact that he’s the father of her oldest daughter, a fact he’s unaware of.
Take a look at what Esten had to say about how Deacon might react to that reveal, and more…
CBS Renews 14 Shows for the 2013-2014 Season
March 27, 2013 by Marisa Roffman
CBS has renewed a whole lot of shows.
With several shows (THE BIG BANG THEORY, NCIS, CSI and HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER) already locked in for next year, the network went ahead and ordered more of ELEMENTARY, PERSON OF INTEREST, THE GOOD WIFE, NCIS: LA, MIKE & MOLLY, 2 BROKE GIRLS, HAWAII FIVE-0, THE MENTALIST, and BLUE BLOODS.
In terms of non-scripted, THE AMAZING RACE, SURVIVOR and UNDERCOVER BOSS, as well as newsmagazines 60 MINUTES and 48 HOURS were picked up for more.
There are a few shows whose fate remains TBD: there was no word on RULES OF ENGAGEMENT, CRIMINAL MINDS, VEGAS, CSI: NY, or GOLDEN BOY in today’s press release. However, the network notes that “CBS and Warner Bros. Television are in discussions regarding another season for TWO AND A HALF MEN.”

GO ON: Scott Silveri Talks Reuniting Courteney Cox and Matthew Perry On-Screen
March 26, 2013 by Marisa Roffman
Filed under #1 featured, Go On
For GO ON creator Scott Silveri, one of his former TV gigs — as an executive producer of a little sitcom called FRIENDS — is still a constant presence in his life, thanks to Matthew Perry being a part of both shows. But in tonight’s brand new episode, the duo staged a larger reunion than normal when Courteney Cox (who played the Monica to Perry’s Chandler) dropped by to play a potential love interest to Ryan (Perry).
“It’s really fun to see the two of them together,” Silveri noted of the duo’s first on-screen appearance in nearly nine years. “I really enjoyed being on stage with the two of them. It felt like old times. I feel like it’ll come through. I think the audience will appreciate it. If not, hey, I had a good time!”
CASTLE: Andrew Marlowe on Ryan’s Baby News, Plus a Tease for ‘Still’
March 26, 2013 by Marisa Roffman
CASTLE viewers got a little bit more insight into Ryan’s backstory in Monday night’s episode, “The Wild Rover,” but the ending also provided a little glimpse into what his future holds: his wife, Jenny, is pregnant! But given that this is an ensemble show — and that Ryan and Jenny’s relationship is the most committed one the series currently has — I was curious what impact the upcoming addition would have on the expectant parents and Ryan’s coworkers.
“We’re trying to figure it out,” CASTLE creator Andrew Marlowe told me. “When people find out they’re pregnant, they don’t tell people right away. They’re in that nervous-anxious period where they’re waiting to get to the three months [of the pregnancy, when it’s generally safer]. Most of that stuff is going to be unfolding next season, assuming all goes well and we’re granted a next season.”
However, Marlowe could tease a little bit about the upcoming “bonus” episode, “Still,” which CASTLE star Seamus Dever (Ryan) had previously hinted was “going to look a little bit different.”

NBC’s freshman series, THE NEW NORMAL, has spent the season charming us, but sadly, we’re quickly approaching the end of the first year. (NBC has yet to make any programming decisions for a potential second season.)
